So, I'm convinced that these tire stores don't know jack after getting different answers from each. I have the 2020 Sport S with Max Tow, so I have the wide Dana 44 axles. I live in Louisiana and went to go help my mom after Hurricane Ida. She had a tree blocking her entire driveway and I got stuck in a ditch trying to get around. Needless to say, it's definitely time to upgrade to some bigger rims and tires. I'm thinking 20 inch rims and 33 inch mud tires. I also want to get a slight lift, but that will come later. Just want some verification that this will work for the time being, or if it will rub with the stock lift. Thanks in advance guys.

You may not need bigger tires, just tires with better tread.
How did you get stuck, and what tires are on it now?

You’ll easily be ok with 33’s. I just put 35’s on my Sport S Max Tow with no lift on Rubicon take off (17 inch) rims. No problems. Sure you want 20 inch rims?

Too bad I wasn’t closer I have a set I’d let go for cheap. Mojave takeoffs I mean.

20 inch rims won't help you keep from getting stuck. That's more of an aesthetic thing. Might also help with cornering on the street and highway due to less sidewall. But it won't keep you from getting stuck. Just get something with a more aggressive tread pattern and keep your wheels. MTs or some good ATs.

If your going to do 20s I’d atleast go with 35s. For 33s I’d run a 17” rim. The look of 33s on a 20” rim looks off to me on a jeep. Honestly a 20” rim on a jeep to me needs a 40” plus tire to look proportional to me. A small spacer or leveling lift would be nice also. You can get rubicon or Mojave takeoffs like mentioned. You could also do a 285/70/17 for a 33 or 285/75/17 for a 34 on your stock rims.

37x12.50’s on Rubicon wheels. Added some height over the stock setup. No lift yet but no issues so far. I work in construction and usually end up on job sites with no roads and need for some clearance.

I have 20" rims with 33's. Personally, I love the way it looks.
