Wheel offset help!

Wondering if anyone can help me?a lot of you guys are extremely knowledgeable about wheels and tires so here it goes im wondering if I can run a 35x12.5r17 tire on a 17×8 wheel with +40 offset ,my gladiator has a 2.5 ready lift level kit i understand that the wheel will be tucked under which is what I would like but will it rub or cause problems?thanks in advance

I run a Method wheel, 17x8.5 +25 with 37x12.50x17 on a JT rubicon with 2" lift. No rub and about even with fenders edge.

I believe AEV wheels for the JT are +25 and 8.5” wide, they are a good offset to be flush and maintain factory handling.

From what I've read and seen on YouTube, +25 Offset with something close to 5.77 Backspacing is the ideal. Anything outside of those numbers you have to contend with rubbing and excessive wear on the ball joints and bearings.

I'm running Goodyear Duratracs 35x12.5r17 on 17x9 +01 Offset 4.99 Backspacing Fuel Off Road, Beast. No Lift, No Rubbing and they poke just outside of the fenders.

Wish I had a little more Backspacing so they could tuck in a little more.

I went with a 0 offset wheel and with 11.5s the tire tread sticks outside right around or just under 1/2 inch. The beadlocks mopar offers are +12 and that would have the 11.5 even with the flare so if you are putting a 12.5 on you would prob want +25 to be even with the flares... in hindsight i wish i would have gone with the +25s
