I have a couple friends who are wheelchair bound (paralysis). I'm wondering if I get a Gladiator Rubicon if they are going to be able to do the transfer. Anyone here have experience with this? Are there any host devices or the like that would work well with a Jeep? Thanks.

No actual experience. But I was talking to a lady who borrowed a friend's Gladiator sitting on 37s with guessing a 4+ inch lift. The owner of said vechicle was wheelchair bound. She said he did just fine. Guessing lots of upper body strength.
Thinking an extended rope ladder type of handle similar to the stock Jeep assist ones. Just longer.

I JUST bought a Gladiator Overland last week and I am in a wheelchair. The VA ordered my wheelchair lift (puts the chair in the bed) and also hand controls for the gas and brakes. I traded in my Nissan Titan which was taller. So far, I've had zero issues getting in and out. It sucks not having the lift yet because it means that I have to break down my chair and lift it over me and into the passenger seat. I am attaching a picture of another Gladiator as it is the same lift setup that I have coming.

I am looking for a soft top for my JKUR, the easiest one to put up and take down. I was able to put my factory soft top up and down on my 03 TJ by myself but I am not sure how it will be with the 4-door.
I am looking for vids of different soft tops being put up and taken down so I can see the process each one involves.. I would love the Rugged Ridge power top. I figured it was getting to the season where everyone will be using their soft tops so next time if you could take a vid and post it, I would greatly appreciate it.

I'm guessing that the poster (fredly) is also disabled and using this thread to get suggestions to help them find a power soft top for their own Jeep?

I wheel with a friend who's 30yo stepson is wheelchair bound. He has a brain injury (from attempted suicide) but uses his upper body strength to get into the front seat. Rubicon with 2.5' lift and 35's. Buddy then throws the wheelchair in the bed and off we go!

I used one of these when transporting my mother who was wheelchair-bound. A huge help. I attached it to the inside roof grab handle instead of the door, like in the photo. They are only $10, so an easy help, or accessories to other methods.

I had a friend who was paralyzed from the waist down and got in and out of his 2500 Super Duty on his own.

There are some videos out there showing some great self transfers of individuals from the chair to the Jeep (lifted). Legs go in and the grab and lift upper body.

Here are a couple videos. Not gladiators but concept is exactly the same. One shows without a device (how my friend would do it with his 2500) and the other with a device

Check this out. Not cheap by any means but.. life changer. We are getting it installed first week of May 2023. Works on Jeep JLU and Gladiator driver or passenger side. Must order the side you want it on, can’t switch. Maintains factory seat, adds in a cool tilt and slide, like having a 7way power seat in my RAM.

It’s called ‘Link’ by Adapt Solutions.

United Access (formerly Ability Center) installed it.

That looks sweet! Could definitely use that on the passenger seat! Any details on it?

It can be installed in front driver or front passenger position on Wrangler JL and Gladiators. Now hold your breath. $14k installed. It’s about $2k-$4k more than normal ones installed in full-size trucks. Lots of engineering and software to position through the small door But it goes lower than any other system I have seen which usually stops at the the height of the door opening. I have a Gladitor on 40” tires so I needed the extra drop.

Hello, I am looking buy a new vehicle and this looks very promising. I have reached out to the local vehicle vehicle modification company that I normally use. The mostly deal with Braun equipment. They came back with a no go on a seat for jeep gladiator. Could you please let me now who the manufacturer is and who is the company that is installing it. I would greatly appreciate it.

My normal go-to company said the same thing (Ability Center) but then I saw this at the ability show in LA. It was in the Ability Center floor space booth and a rep who runs a different location showed it to us. Apparently people at these stores are not really seeing what’s new and emerging OR they are just too busy to Google it On their own. Also, the words these companies use to describe their products are not words real people use So they are nearly impossible to find. Anyway, they were happy to get it for us and install it.

It’s called ‘Link’ by Adapt Solutions.

United Access (formerly Ability Center) installed it For us in Long Beach. They have locations all over.
