From this picture from the above post by 19JL I zoomed in on the speakers on the roll bar. And I really can only see one big speaker on each side. I know that there is supposed to be a total of 4 speakers on the roll bar but I really just see the 2 big ones. Would appreciate it if someone could satisfy my curiosity and show me where the other 2 speakers are on this roll bar.
I just looked at the 360 view of the interior on Jeeps website. It shows the same design.

Yea the Ridgeline and pretty much all the full size trucks now are designed to flip up for cargo room. Very helpful in getting tall cargo on the floor (dog-box, big screen TV, Bike, ect) when the cargo box is removed. Shameful the Ranger did not design their seat this way. As a bonus because of the additional rear legroom the rear seat backs can fold down without removing the headrests.
The ridgeline is not a truck. But I do plan on removing the headrests permanently.

Tweeters can be very small . There is a possibility (I don't know because I haven't looked) that there is a tweeter stuffed under the speaker guard along with a bigger speaker, and maybe they count that as an additional speaker .

Call the Ridgeline whatever you want (Pilot/Odyssey with a bed, SUT, El Camino, Baja), I could care less as I'd ever buy one. I only referred to it as a truck because the manufacturer and all major auto publications do, seems like they do not take body on frame with a bed to be a truck requirement. Some of the same people who refuse to call the Ridgeline a truck will be saying the same thing about the JT (Wrangler with a bed, minivan engine, only has a 5' bed so cant be a truck, cant lay plywood between the wheel wells, base model only tows 4,000 lbs, ect). Doesn't mean anything to me. For my purposes the JT will be a truck.

Those rear headrests can also fold down before you fold the seat backs down. There is a little release button on the side of the headrests for that. I’ve seen them flip down before the seats are folded down in some of the videos.
If you are referring to the Ranger, the back seat rest does not fold flat If your mean the JT, yes, I agree smart design, and the back seat creates a load floor. The Tacoma requires you to remove the headrest to fold flat for a load floor because there is not enough room.

Fold down or not, I don't like them in my rear view mirror, plus my other jeeps never had rear headrests.

No I am not talking about the Ranger, am talking about the Gladiator. See the 3 attached pictures. In one of the pictures the drivers side rear seat is down and the headrest is also folded down, is in a vertical position. In another picture the drivers side rear seat is down and that headrest is not folded, is in a horizontal position. And in the last picture both rear seats are up and you can see a little round release button for the passenger side headrest. Push that button and just the headrest itself folds down.

I took the headrest out of my JK because they did not fold down and where always in the way when folding the rear seat down or in my rear view mirror blocking my view. It is a 2 door and no one but my son ever rides in the back.

Looks like I will not need to do this in the JT because thy just fold down out of the way. This is a much safer option than removing them if you plan on transporting adult passages in the back. If you get rear ended your back massagers are going to need the head rest.

I will go to a dealership tomorrow and look at a roll bar on a regular Wrangler and check this out for myself. Will also check into the location of the dash mounted speakers. From the video of the tall guy almost hitting his head on the roof I was able to get these 2 good pictures of 2 dash top speakers. And here you can also see some nice coin and pen trays on the dash as well. And I think that the other 2 dash speakers are located at knee level. See the other 2 pictures. I have circled in red what I think looks to be 2 nice sized speakers, again at knee level.

It’s also nice to see that this truck comes with 2 front and 2 rear map reading lights. That is shown in the 360 interior views for all trim levels. But nothing at all is mentioned about these reading lights in the last standard features tab for each model. So I just hope that the 360 view is accurate.

Finally for everyone’s info you do not get the 9th speaker, the big bass in the center behind the back seat when you get a base Sport model. You get that speaker in the Sport S, Overland and Rubicon models.

You still have to add the premium audio package to get the sub. You are correct in that the premium audio is not available on the standard sport.

I’m not really interested in the bass sub speaker. I think that 8 speakers on the base Sport truck will be more than enough sound. Plan to put an aftermarket stereo system in with navigation and a much larger screen. Have already looked at some systems and they can all handle 8 speakers. And without that 9th speaker behind the rear seat there just has to be more storage space behind the back seat.

Agree it's an old school safety feature. If you aren't folding flat, headrest is one more thing between whatever's in the bed and the noggins in the cab. The roof ain't stoppin a flying rock hammer, but a headrest might.
