Need a little help making sense of a few JTR offers I have from different dealers:
Deal #1: New JTR, MSRP 56245, dealer selling price 50,483. Includes all the options I want and nothing I don’t. Interest rate 3.49.
Deal #2: Used (Demo) JTR, MSRP 57,680, dealer selling price 51,875. Driven by dealership owner- but being sold out of one of the owners other brand dealerships, not the Jeep dealership. Currently has 1500 miles, car fax verified never registered. Offering to certify and provide CPO warranties of 4 years 48k bumper to bumper and 7 year 100k powertrain. Interest rate 3.25.
My gut says to just go for the new, but I do plan on keeping this thing for quite some time so the extended CPO warranty interests me. As for options between the two the used model is slightly higher optioned, the options it has over the new are the roll up tonneau, color matched flares, black mopar grille. However it lacks aux switches which the new has. Honestly the higher options on the used model are not options I really care to have- the tonneau wont work with my intended bed rack, and I would prefer to not install the aux switches after the fact- did it on our JL and it was a PITA.
Now that I have written all this down I’m leaning strongly to the new option, I don’t feel the discount on the certified used is enough to warrant buying used to begin with. The price for the new is the best I’ve seen without driving a few states away.
Just curious to hear other’s thoughts- is the extended CPO warranty and slightly better interest rate valuable enough to outweigh the higher price on the used model? And am I correct in thinking the price for the new model (about 6% below invoice I believe) is reasonable?
