Congrats on the install your almost complete! Welding the inside unit yes I definitely recommend. Use 15% silver, R410 is high pressure, I use oxy/acetylene tanks if not a B tank will get those smaller lines hot enough also. The flares on the outdoor unit are required as they attach to service valves. Those are easy access if a leak occurs not like that evaporator lol. ?I have been reading about them and that is the main problem I've read. With that in mind would silver soldering the connections be better? Now if I do I know there is no "looking back" but I damn sure know that I can get them sealed that way.
FYI: I just finished up the wiring on mine. With less conventional method of disconnect 30 amp RV plug and outlet (with marked 20 amp breaker) just need to hook up lines, purge and pressure test as of now. ?
