Why didn't jeep create a digital center speedo

I think what the op is referencing is having an option to turn the center infotainment screen into a rendering of the old CJ center dial that housed the speedo, turn signal and such.

I think that works be a cool Easter egg mode but from my experience driving a CJ it is always a bit distracting looking to the right and down to see the speed or what not.

I drive a '79 CJ5 at work, and to be perfectly honest I never bother looking at the speedo. I know how fast I'm going by the sound of the engine, the squirreliness of the steering, and the lightheadedness from the exhaust leak.

I agree that it'd be a cool Easter egg, but ultimately just a novelty of something that's pretty useless anyways. But if it were there, I'd sure be grinnin'.

Yes, but don't you have to first enter and turn on offload pages...like an app? Then navigate to that screen?

I would like it to be a button...so you can go to NAV, RADIO, GAGES,ETC. Easily...

If you exit ORP, you need to hit several key strokes to get it back, no?

I have thought it would be great to pull up the gauges on the center console rather than scrolling thru them...oil press, coolant temp, etc

Off-road Pages does this.
2 button presses to get there. Takes a few moments to load.
If you navigate away, 2 button presses again. But it loads much faster.

From the "APP" screen, you can drag "Off Road Pages" to the tool bar on the bottom of the display. From then on, one touch and you're in!
And if you want to use the GPS coordinates to "DOX" me, come on over.

Yea certainly would be cool! speaking for myself, I generally love analog seeming gauges. Digital center mode??? Ok I can get with that too.

That’s something that can be done with a simple update. Wierd. 10k premium over similar class trucks and yet- us goons on a forums figured out a better feature than the engineers lol. Give us a whiskey plz

LOL, my license plate is visible to the whole world while I drive.

I would not be concerned most people put the name of town and state in which they live. In my case they only know where i work!
