Hey everyone new to the forum and jeeping I Have been looking at buying a Jeep gladiator for my next vehicle and have narrowed the 2 models down to a willys and mojave. My biggest hangup on the willys is not having a rear locker. I know it has trackloc but it’s still not the same as a rear locker. Can any willys owners tell me how there’s preformed off-roading or a argument for getting a Mojave with the locker and more luxurious options.

If you have a hangup about no locker now then dont let it nag you on a $50k purchase. Get the locker or budget for an aftermarket one. You’d have to be ok voiding any warranty claim on the rear axle with aftermarket, as it would be likely. Just sayin.

My vote is Mojave, this is also my first Jeep. Wanted the better suspension and didn’t need the Rubicon front locker. Just my 2 cents

This looks like the exact truck I’ve been eyeing up at a dealer near me for about 48,995 sticker. Great looking jeep!

Love the Mojave for the reasons listed above.

I did consider the Willys with diesel, but still ended up with the Mojave. Also, think the Willys wheels are the best wheel out there.

Offroad+ and blasting up fire roads in the mountains is so much fun!

I own a Willys and I would vote mojave. I love my willys and its all I need. It is awesome amazing and brings a smile to my face everytime i even catch a glimpse of it.

The lsd perfectly complements my lifestyle of sometimes getting in trouble and getting out of it by the skin of my teeth.

But you... you want a better suspension and a rear locker.....

Bite me.

I don't think you'll find many people here who will suggest buying the less expensive/capable vehicle! I went Willys in part because of my budget and in part because of appearance -it has my favorite wheels in the whole lineup, and love the blacked out look. I fish and turkey and deer hunt on some fairy rough terrain, but nothing that an stock sport with no options couldn't easily handle. One could argue I didn't need a Jeep at all, but I'm not one to spend money to make my truck that much more capable than my needs. But if you are looking to rock crawl, I'd personally be looking Rubicon, which is priced in line with the Mojave.

If money is no issue, go Mojave. I like the Willys package at its price point but the LSD may or may not have a long lifespan. This was mine in my Willys JKU at 35k miles.

I went back and forth on this. I did all the research. Once I drove the Mojave I was sold. Also like the hood, the extra lift and high fenders of the Mojave. Just has a better look to me. Also comes with 33" MT's on the Mojave.

I’ve driven a willys about 2 weeks ago and enjoyed the ride and was surprised about the overall build quality of the truck. Can’t imagine how nice the ride is on the Mojave

I love my mojave but I didnt drive any other models to tell you about ride difference.
That said there is absolutely nothing wrong with a willy's. Do you really NEED a locker at all?
I knew I wouldnt need a front locker and didnt figure the rubi 4lo tcase would help me much.
