I have an Apex Badlands I’m going to mount on my OEM steel bumper with a Bulldog Winch plate. I plan to put something like this on the grill where the cable will rub: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00B3IXSM...LYFGWU7B&psc=1&ref_=list_c_wl_lv_ov_lig_dp_it

Anybody have any pictures of where I should run the cables under the front of the Jeep and up through the engine bay to the battery? Recommendations of where I should secure the cables? Best way to place/ secure the disconnect switch?

Thank you in advance, I really don’t want to mess this up.

I slightly pulled loose the passenger side grill. It comes off pretty easily. Then removed the air box. I ran my lines under the grill on the right side and up the little channel in it a few inches, then right under the airbox mount, zip tied it good, and up to the battery from there. I think most have gone a similar route.

Can't really take pics now but I personally ran it up against the inside of the frame and it's a pretty clear shot up into the battery area. Biggest rules are obviously avoid putting it against or near anything that moves or gets hot. I was going to run it under the fender liner but was worried about it getting mushed against components off road.

Best practices - avoid hot stuff, moving parts like belts and pulleys, avoid areas where it could be pinched or abraded.

Check out other threads on the Badlands, a lot of guys move the cables from coming out of back of winch to the side, gives a lot more room, also guy in marketplace here sells spacers, getting a set of 1/4” spacers to move the bumper out that little bit probably won’t need to stick that film on…..Jack

Moving the bumper won't move the winch. It simply moves the bumper away from the winch. Winch will still be close to grill. I used the spacers to move the bumper forward away from the winch a bit.

Take a look at the thread posted by HereWeGo on this subject. I have found the grill modification very beneficial when needing to remove the grill following winch install.
