Went with the badlands apex 12k, over all impressed with it so far. Straight forward install, clear instructions. Made it easy for someone who has never installed a winch before. Look forward to seeing how it pulls. Piece of mind allows me to push a little harder and further than I have been able to.

The bumper I have sits tight against the grille, so close that I can't pull the grill off without taking the bumper loose at the very least.

I put the hole in it instead of just having the wire run through the grille itself, not a fan of wires flopping around. The hole is 3/4 in and the corrugated plastic is also 3/4 in. Fits nice and snug

Okay at first I was did you really just drill through the grill... but that fits so snug with that corrugated tube. That I was was like huh that's actually slick idea for wire management. Wouldn't have thought to have done that, or rather been too hesitant to do it.

100% SAME!!!!!!! $295 after the rebate, it was financially irresponsible not to get it. lmao I wont update my line for awhile. I rarely need a winch, but again, i couldnt pass the deal up.

So out of curiousity what that badlands 12K with synthetic weigh in at? I'm thinking like others on here of buying the 12K wire then changing the wire out to save weight. At the moment cheaper then buying it with synthetic.

I got this one on black friday sale 529$. if I remember correctly shipping weight was around 80lbs so I'd guess just for the winch somewhere around 65 or 70 lbs

As long as you don't need to pull the grille for any reason, you can route the wires any way you want to. it looks good and if you are happy with it, that's all that matters.

I wouldn't have done it that way (and didn't on my Gladiator) simply because I learned from my JK that small issue with grille removal. Tie wraps took care of the flopping wire issue.
