Hi All
I just got a 2020 Jeep Gladiator with a steel OEM bumper
I want to install a winch, and looking for some advice
I know I need a winch plate, but I do have the following options
  1. Get the Vevor winch plate, this one is quite affordable, what do you guys think? Looks even better than the more expensive rough country one. With this one having four mounting holes each side instead of two on the Rough country Vevor winch plate
  2. Locally, I have someone selling this one for $300 Canadian, from the looks of it, it doesn't look very nice, but not sure? 🤔

So, I was wondering the following:
  1. is the aforementioned winch plate good enough? Or should I consider a different brand? Keep in mind that I'm planning on installing a 10k lbs winch
  2. What do you think of the used steel bumper?

Thank you very much in advance

I recently ordered the Vevor winch plate, actually very impressed by the build for the cost, good solid unit, thicker steel than some of the others around, I will be using it to install a 12k Warn in a couple of weeks on a 21 JTR with steel OEM bumper, can give you an update then

If it were me, I would think about the winch I am purchasing. To me, at least, I like the plug-and-play approach or at least as close to it as possible. There is a lot of information here on this site about which combination of winch/winch plate/bumper works best together.

Some here have a particular winch in mind. That's fine. Check the threads here and you will likely see users that have installed the same winch and have given their experience and tips on the winch plate and installation issues.

In my case, I am a bit mechanically challenged (or lazy or both) and wanted the easiest and most cost effective option. So I have the factory metal winch-ready bumper, Grimm plate, and HF Apex 12000. Based on what I learned here, it's about as plug-and-play as you can get. I am a happy camper!

Anyway, if you have a certain configuration in mind, you don't have to re-invent the wheel but check here what others have already done and learn from their experiences.

Thank you very much for the info, I was wondering about its build quality

I am leaning that way as well, I also like the look of the OEM one more

I personally would go with this winch plate. I actually am using this one currenly. Its priced well and most importantly its American made. The Vevor is made in China.

Thank you very much for the suggestion, but I live in Canada, and it's easier and cheaper for me to get the Chinese made ones than the US made ones into Canada. And this one seems to need powder coating, which adds to the cost.
Both this one and the Vevor are made from 6mm thick steel. So seems a no brainer to go with the Vevor one
