This guy abused the #$@% outta his, bent his winch plate - and still likes his winch.

Looks like more than plenty of grease...........

Looks like he used it as a snatch strap.

I got my Apex a couple years ago before the good coupons dried up.
Same here. Got mine with synthetic line for 356 and some Penny’s out the door. 1/3 or more less than the comparable Warn. I’ve used it several times and it’s been flawless.

Yep, think we got the same one, and if you really don't want to see the badlands badge, you can go a couple shelves down at harbor freight and cover it with tasteful light bar like this. That's not an actual air chuck, it's repurposed to be a quick disconnect for my trail flag.

Mine was under that.
Unless you use it hard every month or so, warranty won't matter unless it's a 5 year warranty. You may go a while and not need or use it.
I'm thinking now that the Warn EVO was $649 not the Apex.

I picked mine up locally, saved a little bit (no shipping). These numbers look a lot closer to my memory of it.

I guess it wsan't the BADLANDS branding itself that bothers me, plenty of stuff with BADLANDS written on it in my shop. I think it was just that the control box sticks up so far that it irked me visually. I am in that weird 1% group of Jeep people who, as a general rule, don't really care for anything that looks overly "aftermarket" on a vehicle.

I am happy with my HF Badlands other than a handle issue I cannot figure out. I removed the handle to cut it smaller and when I reinstalled it basically free spins between clutch engaged and free spool. I can use the remote and to unwind it, or when I push the OUT button, it will go into free spool and it pulls just fine when I push the IN button.

Check if you got the set screw back in the right spot. I noticed when I did the same to mine, there's a little flat cut on the handle shaft, like a detent. I had to fiddle with mine too.

You could do what I did. Take the top control box off the winch. It fits perfectly on top of my fuse box under the hood (diesel JTR). You just just need longer cables for it to run down to the winch. Then I made an aluminum plate to fit on top of the winch with the holes lining up with where the control box went (just to protect the winch line from the sun). You can hardly see my winch in the bumper and nothing is blocking the grill to disturb air flow and you don't see any badging of the winch.

Oh, this is essentially exactly what I did. That particular winch is now on another vehicle, but I had no issues with it on the Glady. Looked and worked great.

I did the same exact thing, took me a while to figure it out.
