With what size tires?
Lower pressures help with any size tire. The bigger the lower you can go in general. On the 37s I'll go down to 20psi on the highway when it's snowing. If I'm snow wheeling it's more like 9psi. Even on stock tires I'd go down to 26-28psi.

Headed north on 95 between Lewiston and Moscow this morning. Just put 300 lbs of weight in the back yesterday.

Made it to Moscow, no problems.
Gotta love LED lights.

Those and auto 4WD are requirements now days for me and a new vehicle. And I used to bitch and moan about LED's. Auto dimming is very nice also...

I'm getting ready for the snow storm. We're expecting a pretty good snow and a layer of ice. I'm running 35" Kenda Clever AT's and can't wait to see how they do. I'll probably air down to 25 initially. I have to drive my fiance home to Dayton, OH in the thick of it (2 hour drive), so I'm also probably going to put a hundred or so pounds of water softener salt in the back. I've got my recovery gear, a shovel, traction boards, water, and MRE's packed up, with a full tank of fuel.

I'm hoping the LED's don't freeze over. My final lighting plan is not installed yet, but I do have cowl lights that should be hot enough to keep from freezing over, if necessary. This is where my JL is superior. I've got Baja Designs LP6 Pro's installed and they have a wonderful low beam for just such an occasion. But I am more excited about running the Gladiator. The JL has mud tires. They are ok in snow, but won't compare to the Clevers on the JT.

Anyway, I'm looking forward to some fun tomorrow!

Only problem is that they reflect the snow more than yellow lights or halogen headlights.

I'm going with Harbor Freight Road Shocks on the JT because of the yellow covers for precisely that reason.

I've seen some other videos that claim some advantages to yellow light off-road at night. IIRC, the yellow gives you more of a perception of detail for the Rugged terrain in front of you. Not sure if that is true, but I think it was Baja designs that made the video. I'll try and find it.

My wife is Florida native. I made her move to MN for a couple years for work. She asked me once in a snow storm how I could stay on the road. She couldn't see the road so how could I. She didn't like my answer. I know where the road should be.

I dont miss winter driving at all.

That's why I use yellow ditch lights. I found in the woods the white had harsh shadows.
