So now that I hope we have seen the last of the snow, how was the JT's first winter? How did it handle compared to wranglers or other trucks for those who are able to compare? Is it more jeep or more truck or something in between? Did it meet your expectations in the snow?

I rarely had to go in to 4H the entire winter. Couple of fun blizzards that would have normally stopped me from going to work was hardly noticeable.

Almost like a JK Unlimited: you have to use 4H from time to time and on 2H it drifts more than a front wheel drive. I tried once the 4L with front and rear locks to go through more than a feet of snow in the driveway and get perfectly straight into my garage place. However, I think it’s a little bit easier to keep a straight line in snow drifts due to it’s longer wheelbase length.

One difference: I had real winter tires on the JK but I decided to keep the stock Falken LT285/70R17C WildPeak A/T3W tires. It’s really cool too only have one set of tires. This model performs as a winter tire. However, on pure ice, when parking lot is like a perfect skate ring, you really have to be gentle on the brakes... I heard it would be a question of rigidity/hardness in the cold temperatures...

I went with the wrangler duratracs (excellent snow ratings) on my overland, and didn’t have any problems. Barely used 4hi, didn’t need 4lo in northern Indiana. But not too much snow this year...1

It's amazing. Went with 35x12.5r17 bfg KO2 and it's unbelievable. I had a 2015 jk 2 door on 35s and it was white knuckle on snow or ice. The Gladiator is extremely stable and the electronics are much smoother and more responsive than the old jk models.

No LSD needed really as they have BLD which simulates a lady. It has some delay and requires power to work so you have to give it more throttle to get both spinning there's good explanations online.

The tires and long wheel base make it fantastic.

We didn’t get much snow here this year, but we had a little bit one time and I ran into some another time in the NC mtns. Coming from my 2017 Canyon, which I liked and it had an auto 4wd option (acts like AWD) that I used a lot on winter roads with patchy snow. I really thought I’d miss that option, but I haven’t yet. The Gladiator has so much better weight distribution that I really don’t need it anymore. The great weight distribution on these compared to other trucks is the best thing about them that no one really talks about.
