Wiring for Bulletpoint Magsafe chargers

I purchased the Bulletpoint rubigrid and I am going to mount two of their magsafe charger phone holders as we are taking a long road trip and want to be able to have my phone and my wife's charging and will give a good place to keep them. I also purchased the 12v adapter that plugs into the factory cigarette lighter from behind the dash and provides 12v power and a usb c outlet (2c and 1a) that I intend to connect to the magsafe chargers behind the dash. I was thinking about it and would it be possible to have not just the usb outlet wired to the 12v but also hardwire my Valentine1Gen2? Normally its not in the Jeep, but for a long road trip I will have it in there. Thanks.

The 12v adapter factory wiring adapter has a red and black (looks brown in the pic) with a screw connection to allow additional 12v. I was concerned if I had the UBS red and black and the Valentine red and black both going into the two connectors would there be enough power for 2 phones and the radar detector.

I was going to combine the USB and radar wires together into the one connection from the 12v extender.

I used that same lighter plug adapter to power a radar detector and wired in a another lighter plug behind the dish so that i could use a higher output lighter plug power adapter to wire in an apple magsafe charger and run an additional usb-c wire out for my passenger to use. Dropped everything down below the dash from the tray on top so it would all stay hidden.

Just installed my Bulletpoint rubigrid with the 12v adapter off the back of the cigarette ligher and wired up behind the dash. That USB x3 will in no way fit under the rubigrid or on the dash. Heck, the 3 usb ports do not line up. I ended up mounting it under the dash to the left of the radio where I had pulled the 12v connection to.

If you want the USB up on top, you need a very thin USB and the more I think about it, maybe a rectangle that will fit under the rubigrid.

Just getting around to post my Bulletpoint install pic. Two powered Magsafe Phone holders and powered V1Gen2 Radar detector. No hanging wires or items plugged in the dash.

The harness with the pigtail off the cigarette lighter plug was the easiest and best choice. Dash is easy to pop out, plug in and run up under the dash by the bulletpoint. One hole drilled (which would be covered by the rubber tray if you took the bulletpoint off to seel) and all the wiring is under the dash. Lots of space under there.

Yes Bullepoint is not cheap, but I like.

For sure. I have their regular (non powered) mounts. Nice product. Great customer service/support, too...
