Good Morning Folks,

Purchased a WS AL4 Hard Tri tonneau cover last weekend over the sales tax free holiday in Massachusetts. Installed yesterday. I was hoping that someone else on the forum that purchased an AL4 could weigh in and confirm something for me. The kit comes with a set of six clamps that are supposed to be used to anchor the tonneau cover rails to the bed rails. What I ran into during the install was that nowhere in the instructions are the clamps mentioned to be used to anchor the cover rails to the bed rails. The rails are instead anchored using bolts and bolt/nut at the front and rear of the cover rail. The only video I could find for an AL4 install was for a GMC pickup. The clamps WERE used in that install. I could not find a video for a gladiator install. I'd like to confirm that I'm not missing something.

Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks

Here's some pics. Pretty impressed with the quality of this cover. Still would like to confirm whether the rail clamps are used/not used for the Gladiator install. As I stated before, the included instructions make no mention about the use of the clamps. If nobody weighs in I guess

I'll have to contact the manufacturer to confirm.

I like the looks of that cover a lot. Pretty water tight?
I love the cover. It's been water tight for me. I did a lot of reading on the forum before I bought it. I came to realize after reading a lot of posts that one person can have no issues, while another is not so lucky. I hope it works out well for you.

I think those clamps are to be used to clamp on to a trail rail system. I am in the process of ordering both a DICMIC Trail Rail system and the new Worksport Nexus hard tonneau cover and hope they will work together as they are indicated to be compatible. If anyone has installed a WS AL4 or Nexus with a trail rail system please share your experience with the install with photos. Thank you.

Universal hardware kits frequently include extra bed clamps meant for other pickup models that do not use dedicated track or bolt-on mounting systems.
