WorkSport AL4

After watching numerous youtube videos and review of other posts i decided on the WorkSport AL4 Flip-Up Hard Cover Tonneau on my 25 Mohave X.

The install was pretty easy. I did have to initially thread bolts from the rear side to clear factory paint that was in the threads at the mounting points near the tail.

I really like the corners on WorkSport AL4 that in my opinion looks better and less prone to breaking when compared to other options along with if I am in any sort of situation requiring the cover to be flipped up it will not rest against the glass.

If you have any questions i would be glad to help answer them.

Does it require a rail system?

Does it require a rail system?

If you are asking do you need a factory bed rail type system NO

It does not use or require tie down bed rails but uses its own rail system that over laps on partially on top of the plastic and then bolt points on the inside of the bed.

Thanks for the pics, it does look like it would interfere with the Trail Rails, or is there a mounting option to use them instead of their own rails?

Would you mind getting a few shots of it folded by section? I saw one that make it look like some of the hardware was near the window when folded up.

Looks like plenty of room to access and install bed rails and no you would never use trail rails for any of the tonneu cover installs. They are only used for tie down ratchet strap or molle system rails for mounting or tie down needs.

@HotWheels - Thanks for posting those, based on the other photos I couldn't tell how close to the glass the locking system was, looks like enough space for sure.

For the Trail Rail its hard to tell but the last couple pics make it look promising. When I look at this photo looks like it would ride just above.

Nice cover. I am undecided on a cover, but realistically if I go out to the desert I need something to control dust. That WorkSport looks like a good choice!
Thank you for posting all the photos!

For me it really depends on what your needs are. I wanted a certain look and quality. I did not need T-rails that another popular brand has recently released or the corners that break on install or over time and i did not want a soft cover that will fade over time or collect dust and rub etchings on the glass. It really depends on what your desired look budget and use case is to make the decision and i am happy with this purchase meeting my needs providing a thicker metal material and seals. Hope this helps with your decisions as i completely understand the endless options and opinions available to us.

Exactly.
I really prefer no cover for most times. With no cover though, people will toss the occasional trash into the bed, leaves gather in the bed, and it limits the height of objects stowed in the bed.
But when going down a trail everything in the bed will get covered in dust on the desert trails. So it looks like I’ll be installing a bed cover. They do look nicer than an open bed.

Thanks for the detailed pics. I'm also interested in this cover. I noticed in one of your pics that a piece of the plastic bed rail cover was cutout to reveal some bolt holes. Was this necessary as part of the install instructions, or was that leftover from a previously installed tonneau cover?

Thanks

It is necessary to cut it to access the bolt holes that are over painted threads and was a pain to enter bolt in reverse side to clean paint debri from the threads so they bite. The cut portion becomes covered by the rails
