What are you getting for MPG with your current setup towing the pontoon?
I haven’t towed it yet. Boats been stored for winter before I got the jeep a little over a month ago.

On stock wheels doing about 75 on highway I was getting around 20-21 mpg and now with the heavy tires I’m seeing around 14-15 mpg on highway at 75.

I'd give it a try before doing anything.

Is it a tritoon with a big motor, or a pontoon with a smaller motor? Any idea what it weighs?

You sure? I think you might be rosily remembering your old tires as there is no way you lost 33% of your mpg from a tire change that are the same size. Your current MPG's are worse than I get on 39's with 5.13's (15.5 over an 800 mile set of trips including towing a camper 120 miles and off roading a full day).

On stock rubicon tires and gears at 80 i was 17.5 and at 70 around 19.

I remember quite well actually. 4 hours on the highway and I was showing the 20ish mpg. By the way my stocks were 32s. (255/70/18).
My new tires which are 12ply (33/1250/20) and weigh around 110lbs each including the wheel. My mpgs dropped by 4-5 on my next highway road trip.

Did you recalibrate? I'm literally at 130 lbs a corner on 6 inch larger tires and do better than you. Perhaps just a bad trip or in to the wind?

That I have not done. Would it make that big of a difference though?
