I use my key far to much to give up the bulky fob. I keep my glove box and center consoles locked. And while I rarely go in my glove box, I like to put my phone in my center console when driving doorless so I never have to worry about taking a hard turn and having a grand fly out of my car. Also like to lock my ez pass away when I'm parked with no doors on
So I do the same but all the time. I have a sport with a soft too so tend to just leave the doors unlocked and the valuables in the locked compartments or keep none in it. The new sport key is an absolute game changer for me. Just a tiny little key and nothing else.

@IanNubbit

Great you are enjoying that "sport key"... Thanks for going Threedom!

I too have a Threedom Waterproof Sport Key. I fasten it to my swim suit when at the beach, the pool, out boating, etc..

The Threedom Waterproof Sport Key is a terrific addition to the Threedom line of product offerings for the JL/JT.

One thing I will say so others know, along with you guys. On late 2021 and up models with at least the 7" UConnect radio. You'll get three honks since the key fob is not detected, pretty annoying, Tazer just got an update that removes this "feature" so you don't annoy everyone when you start your JL/JT up or open and close the door while its running. After that, once your driving down the road it docent care at all.

Oh, OK. Thanks. I got this for holding my phone. Nice little extra storage space.

Until you try and set a drink in the cupholder directly in front of the it.

I have this, and I can use both cupholders just fine. What's the issue I'm missing?
A water bottle or a 32oz bottle? Thought I saw someone take it out because it got in the way of larger drink cups.

About the problem of the panic alarm inadvertently going off....

Regardless of the JT/JL fob, whether it is a factory fob, an AJT Design's fob or a Threedom fob, if you lean against the panic button you are going to set the panic alarm off.
I was wondering if there is a raised rim around the end of the panic button end. The original does not. Some of the photos of the Threedom fobs make it look like there may be.

Is the panic button protected against accidental presses better than on the original fob?
You can flat out disable the panic button with alfaobd if you don't think you'll ever want to press it.

I use mine ten times a day when we’re out camping. We use bolt locks keyed to the Jeep for hitch pins, coupler lock, cooler locks, etc. I think we have 8 of them to lock and unlock. Oh well. Thanks. I wish they designed it to pull out of the fob like a valet key. Unless they do and I’m misunderstanding.
they make a key holder that separates the key from the fob, but my intention was to finally stop the switch blade.

yes the rim is raised but only to the level of the button.

Separating myself from Threedom for a moment.. What I am going to say, is not lets say coming from Threedom but from a fellow Jeep owner.

When they first became available, I purchased and used a Gibson Leatherworks, leather fob holster.

A terrific, well made, high quality leather holster for my factory fob. I highly recommend the Gibson Leatherworks holster if you use a JT/JL factory key fob..

When AJT Designs came out with their JL/JT fob I purchased 2 of their fobs. A bit clunky, battery insertion a pain to deal with and the key kept popping out of the AJT Design's fob's key holder compartment. I used the AJT Design fob for over a year.... until the Threedom fob came about.

At the get go, I asked Threedom to be a tester of the beta fob they came up with.... and as soon as I laid my hand on a Threedom fob, I quickly sold off my 2, AJT Design fobs. Yes, the Threeodm fob(s) are that good...

I said to myself sell this AJT Design's clunker before people find out about the superior Threedom fob.. Anyway, enough said.

About the problem of the panic alarm inadvertently going off....

Regardless of the JT/JL fob, whether it is a factory fob, an AJT Design's fob or a Threedom fob, if you lean against the panic button you are going to set the panic alarm off.

This though is not a fob issue... it is a you issue.

Leaning against the button, inadvertently depress it and regardless of how well the fob designer's designed the fob, well a button can be inadvertently pressed if you lean on it, etc..

A way .. a way, to deal with the panic button inadvertently going off regardless of whether you have a factory of aftermarket fob....

Open up the fob and access the fob's circuit board. On the face side of the circuit board, look for black colored, very small rubber buttons.

The black buttons correspond with the fob's lock, unlock, panic and remote start if your vehicle has remote start.

With a tweezer, carefully and gently remove the little black button that deals with the panic alarm from the circuit board.

You will see it comes off/out easily.... and yes, it goes back in place just as easily.... if and when in the future, you chose to put it back in place. With that rubber button removed, the fob panic button no longer works.

Again, the info I give is spewed by this vehicle owner and not coming from Threedom...

.
Haha, Nice! What a great way to encourage someone to buy your product.

That is what bugs me, fob is always in my pocket and many times loading something in bed with tailgate down the panic button would hit the edge of tailgate. And the switchblade key opening in pocket.
Threedom is nice, but doesn’t help with panic button, and AJT never responded to an email about theirs.
The size of the fob doesn’t bother me, so I went with Gibsons Leather case and it helps both my complaints! Very nicely handmade case and I believe he is a sponsor on here.
Not all of this is directed for you, but wanted to touch on the panic buttons.

I have one of the smaller fobs that doesn’t have the sliding key, Mode M. It’s at least a year old, don’t recall but I know it was one of the early batches.

It’s held up phenomenally, can’t even see scratches or any defects, and the buttons are all less tactile and require a bit harder press than the original fob. That part may be good or bad depending on your preference, but I have never accidentally set off the alarm nor have issues with locking/unlocking or remote starts.

I saw someone mention about waterproofing. While the Threedom isn’t waterproof, it is the best option to make a waterproof fob yourself. The shell of the M is 2 pieces and one screw. I would think a bead of silicon around the seam and a spot on the screw (maybe overkill) will be fine for anything except for long submersions.

The one thing I like about the original fob is that it is reminds me of those of the luxury cars…big and flashy and almost makes a statement by itself.

This is one of those things that if you’re content and it doesn’t bug you, good. I unfortunately already have to carry quite a few keys around and the fob was an added bulk I didn’t care for, so much so I plan on ordering a second.

Took the spring out of mine, and now no switchblade.
Sounds like a neat idea. I haven’t grown irritated enough to take measures. I carry it all day in front pants pocket. I drive a front load trash truck so I’m in and out more than I should be...phucking people are pigs.
Anyhow I’ve only had the switchblade a half dozen times and I didn’t know until it was time to go home. ?‍♂
So I’m not concerned about it at this time. ?
