Wow !! Lawyers now sending advertising letters out for representing against Jeep

So I got this letter in the mail today out of the blue. I haven’t really had any problems with my 22 Overland and haven’t even had any warranty work done. Lawyers must be hungry ?? There must be a lot of complaints I guess , though ?

I signed up for the 3M ear plug class action on a whim. I was sure it was a scam. January 1st I start collecting $200 pay checks for a few years.

I get like $20,000. The lawsuit is for several billion dollars. Granted it took me almost zero effort, I just had to scan medical records and sign a few documents.

There were some shady looking ads on Facebook. At one point I was sure it was a scam. One day I decided to click on it. Turns out it was legitimate. I wish I had gotten in earlier. The real money is for people with tinnitus, which I have, but which I didn't have the proper documentation for.

In what context, criminal and/or civil?

Very few laymen can navigate either system successfully without a lawyer. The whole system from prosecutors, defense and judges are all lined with ring knocking lawyers that golf together on the weekends and attend each others personal events and functions. Part of getting a good lawyer is not just they know the law, but wield the behind the scenes influence of their fraternal trade.

Judges hate laymen that self represent no matter how smart they may be. It is an affront to their profession.

The complicated system is because life is complicated and the law needs to cover those eventualities. Even then, the courts have to interpret that law when it isn't clear how it applies to a given situation.

If it was simple, you'd only need one law "Don't be a dick."
