November in Ontario and it's plenty warm enough to wash the (black) truck by hand in short sleeves. So I did. And I noticed this. I've owned the (black) truck for 19 months from new. I've never done any work with the cowl on that side of the truck. So the question is: do I have someone else's cowl?

Very odd. The color match should be perfect, it was painted all at once. In the picture it almost looks like you have a Stingray or Anvil color cowl.

They make plastic armor for the cowls if you wanted to just cover it up, or I guess you could see about a replacement/paint match from your dealer.

You would have noticed that for sure when you put the shorty antenna on. Wonder if someone wanted black ones and parking lot swapped them. Unfortunately society has gotten to the point where that wouldn't surprise me.

They only took the passenger side. I've got a picture from October 15 that I'm pretty sure shows the cowl is black. I haven't had it at the dealer since then. I guess I should be happy it was replaced and not just taken, but wow.....

Maybe couldn't get the driver side without being seen.

That is insane!
Guess that you can't run your top off or tube doors or anything like that.

WTF…that’s ridiculous.
That's wild! You said you had it at the dealer? Any chance it may have been damaged and they swaped that on? What kind of work did you have done?

Actually, what I meant was since the picture I took on Oct 15, I haven't had it at the dealer, so it couldn't have happened there. I'm assuming it happened at work; the parking lot is an industrial strip mall type thing, and there's no security. So maybe there. Just weird...

Ok. Yeah, super weird. Well, time to be on the lookout for a grey jeep with a black panel! At least they did you the solid of leaving theirs :)

That is absolutely crazy! Did you check your driver side screws, do they show any attempt at removing that cowl as well?
