Ahhh.....no.....Diesel at the local Sheetz is $5.24 gallon. Diesel at the closest truck stop, Pilot is $5.76. So why should I buy anything at the truck stop?
Pump def is cheaper than box def here

I hope the lake still has water when you get there.
Me too. I've been keeping an eye on the water level. It's 177ft below full pool. Was there about 3 yrs ago. Then it was 143ft below full pool. They are saying that by 2023 if this keeps up. They will declare the lake a dead pool.

I got a 4xe…. It gets great mileage if it’s warm out… not so good in the cold though

Isn't it interesting how the earth started to heal itself with the big C-19 shut down. We sure put a halt to that.
Wonder if this will help level the field for the Amish/Mennonite, the organics, the non-Monsanto in general.

So $10-$11/gal for DEF?? WTF, water w a little urea in it. The absolute greed of the big corps, i hope they all choke on it and die
I hate to break it to you, but Urea isn't crapped out by Unicorns, nor does it fall out of the sky so that all those big evil corporations have to do is just go scoop it up off the ground at no expense to rip you off.
It is a byproduct of the petroleum refining process.
It's only understandable that it's cost will rise & fall right along with fuel prices.

Have you been going into FORM? I'm on the JL forum and it's like no one with a 4xe has done ANY research about it and don't realize that the grill cover in colder weather can help them a ton.

According to this link, urea is closer to come from unicorns than it does from petroleum distillation.

It goes much deeper then "greed of the big corps". The big corps are doing what they always have done, that hasn't changed. Of course you can't talk about why prices are really going up, you'll get banned. Let's talk about fishing.
I caught and released a few rainbows couple days ago on a antique bamboo fly rod and a old reel made in the 1950's, the reel is a "Magic Reel" from Colorado. Was great, I was the only swinging dick on the little alpine lake. I just spooled up a Humphreys reel (also from Colorado made 1946-1955) with some light 4 lb line and going to give that a shot next time.
Don’t know too much about def, and don’t want to hijack, but I would spend months on a thread about our “fly-fishing” or “fishing” vehicles/builds ???

This whole thing actually came up a month - maybe 2 - ago.
Time flies when you're having fun! (early December, if you can believe that)

Anyways if anyone is interested the previous conversation was about the Jalopnik article: https://jalopnik.com/global-urea-shortage-could-park-diesel-trucks-1848201479

but fell into "fake news" pretty quickly... a lot of the same types of comments as this one, if you want to take a look: https://www.jeepgladiatorforum.com/forum/threads/global-urea-shortage.52107/

This would be a great year to start a garden if you haven't already. IMO, the world (myself included) has become too reliant on others for basic needs (such as food). I will be making a solid effort to steer myself away from that.

Your Jeep barely uses any DEF compared to the big rigs on the highways. That $5+ a gallon diesel and the increase in DEF is just making things worse. Maybe throw some 35’s on a Prius? ? But let’s get back to fishing.

Dang, was it really that long ago? All I recall is seeing weeks or months ago about a global urea issue, and then finding AGAIN, later, when Russia did her thing, about it being far worse due to supplies coming from that region.

Yeah, time's fun when you're having flies........ wait, something doesn't seem quite right about that...
