I don't typically name things, and I don't have mine yet to name. I have named cars in the past, but they have to tell me their names; if you try to name it, it just comes across as forced.

'62 VW bus - panel spec, originally purchased by a TV repair franchise in northern California. When prepping it for paint, we discovered the original decals under the hippy house paint. "Handy Andy", "TV - Electronics - Radio", "COLOR" (in a big oval), and a cartoon guy with a giant head and a beanie cap that had a TV antenna instead of a propeller like you'd see in cartoons of the era. The bus was thereafter dubbed "Andy"

'84 M1009 CUCV - heavy truck with a naturally aspirated diesel V8. I don't know if it was a tune issue, wear, or what, but the throttle was "nothing... nothing... nothing... ALL OF IT!!!!!" and the noise it made to go with that was "grumble... grumble... grumble... ROAR!!!!!". It was very cumbersome until it leapt into life. Lumbered around, then BEAST MODE!!!! It became "Lumberbeast"

Forced names that never stuck included "Scrappy" for an '81 K10 that was all manner of cobbled together. My wife's JKUR was a forced "Penny" for the Rhino color looking like old steel, the WWII connection and steel pennies. There was something about Penelope in there too, but like I said, it was a bit forced, and never really stuck.

If the car doesn't have enough character to tell me it's name, it doesn't get one. Once it's told you it's name, there's no use calling it anything else.

CUCV are like that. Once helped a buddy do some plowing in his and it was all or nothing. Made my then ratty cj7 plow rig feel down right subtle.

Mine will be in Sarge Green so it's either going to be PVT. Pyle or Gunny (aka GSGT . Hartman, your senior drill instructor).

In HS my nickname was Garzilla (received from the powerlifting team due the sound I made while squatting and deadlifting)

I transferred this to my JKU... and my son is still driving that one. so due to my lack of creativity....

Geep - pronounced Gea-hep. The old XJ took "the jeep" so we needed something to separate the 2 while the XJ still lives with us.
