hey all,

trying to get this done but want to make sure i don't screw anything up.

instructions say run the wire into the cabin through the firewall via clutch plug located below the brake booster.

my question is... is this the clutch plug? or some random plastic gromet on the engine side.

I just looked at there instructions and I went out and looked at my gladiator and the plug that you are pointing to is the only one I see on mine at the brake booster pull it out and see where it goes inside the gladiator you can just pop it back in if that’s not right

I'd have to drill through. The plug just reveals the body (firewall). I want to drill through..but not sure where it comes out. Do I feel lucky? Do I? \eastwood\

The gladiator camera should be out end of Feb/early march. That's what Z automotive told me.

Since I have a front receiver I'd not mind having a front camera - sure would be a ton easier than the in and out lining up to the trailer to hook up to it to maneuver and back it around or if I end up getting a receiver mount plow.

Did everything...mounted the camera...ran the wired...removed the dash ..etc.

Had an issue installing the wires into the harness behind the dash. It gets inserted 1 of 2 ways. Guess I picked the wrong one. Ended up pulling the wire apart and soldered it back together...didn't work. Got a blue screen.

Anyway...emailed zaitomotive to see if they'll seel me just that piece ...waiting on reply

SO, was that the plug? Why did you have to DRILL through it? Did you try pushing a coat hanger wire through it first?

it was the plug above as mile high mentioned. no drilling. it's a nice size hole right through to behind the dash. have to drill a hole throught the actual plug.

Thanks but a couple more questions...

Where does that plug lead to - you said "behind the dash" but I would interpret that as we'd have to open up the dash to access the wire(s) coming through the plug? Can you explain where that plug leads to inside the cab of the Gladiator? Thanks

I did mine about a month ago, pretty easy with the exception of pulling the dash apart on a brand new $60k vehicle! I bought a cheap, $11 camera for the front til Z gets the correct mount for the Gladiators.

do you remember how you hooked up into the wiring harness with the rca video plug (the one with 2 wires). did you happen to pay attention which way you inserted the plug on the end of the wire into the red capped harness. it's got a small clip on one side...instructions say it clicks in...i heard or felt no click...and it didn't work....

as for where the hole is from the engine through the dash...it's in the upper left. if you remove the panel directly under the steering wheel...its very easy to access.
