it was the plug above as mile high mentioned. no drilling. it's a nice size hole right through to behind the dash. have to drill a hole throught the actual plug.
Well that makes no sense - it was the plug above, no drilling, but have to drill through the plug?

do you remember how you hooked up into the wiring harness with the rca video plug (the one with 2 wires). did you happen to pay attention which way you inserted the plug on the end of the wire into the red capped harness. it's got a small clip on one side...instructions say it clicks in...i heard or felt no click...and it didn't work....

as for where the hole is from the engine through the dash...it's in the upper left. if you remove the panel directly under the steering wheel...its very easy to access.
I don't recall exactly, however I do remember looking at the other connections to determine which way it went in. It will definitely click, when it goes it correctly. The instructions were NOT CORRECT on the pins to use. I have an email with the corrected pin placement.

I did mine about a month ago, pretty easy with the exception of pulling the dash apart on a brand new $60k vehicle! I bought a cheap, $11 camera for the front til Z gets the correct mount for the Gladiators.

also...do you remember if you used the 22/21 pins or the ones for the 2018/2019

i have a 2020 rubi gladiator.

yup...i had that originally...and got the blue screen....i re-soldered the wire...pushed the connectors as far as i could into the harness...and voila...it works. i also bought a cheap camera from amazon...using it for now...when they come up with the gladiator clip on camera...they'll hopefully sell it separately. will post pics in the next day or so.

if the plug is there...you can't push any wires through...cause it's a plug. i drilled through the plug so i don't have a bigger hole than is needed. didn't need to drill through the body of the jeep which i what i thought with the plug below that one.

I was told it would work on any 8.4 system. I installed mine in the front bumper.

FYI the Gladiator specific Camera bracket is out. Just got it so no idea how it works. I was planning to make the JL bracket work and then I heard this we out and contacted Zautomotive. They sent it to me for free. I’ll try to get some time to install and post a YT video.
