Yeah NOTHING about the Gladiator is a good deal.
What convertible pickup would you recommend one consider instead?

If you don’t need the removable top, or removable doors, or manual transmission, or the breadth of aftermarket options, or just plain like the styling, Ram would be happy to sell you a 1500 which offers a combination of size/utility/power which may prove superior for you and 400,000 of your closest friends.

Easy fella……it’s okay. I wasn’t saying anything bad about the Jeep or that Jeep sucks or people shouldn’t buy it. In fact I just ordered one. I’m saying it’s not a good deal. Is it an awesome truck? Yes it is. Is it insanely over priced? Also Yes with out question.

FWIW, the new Wrangler 2023 colors are Purple Reign and Earl Gray (or just "Earl").

On the Jeep.com builder, it shows that Gobi and Snazzberry were replaced by Purple Reign and Earl for 2023.

I think until the website updates Gladiator for 2023, we aren't gonna have a concrete ideas of colors. Even the Wrangler didn't have the new ones when orders first opened, from what I've been reading.

Excessive compared to what?

A Charger is more expensive than a Camry even though they’re both large four-door sedans, is that excessive?

A Hemi Ram is more expensive than the Charger with the same engine, is that excessive?

A TRX is more expensive than the Hemi 1500 for the same platform and less utility, is that excessive?

The new electric Hummer is more expensive than the TRX and has, in some ways, less utility still. Excessive?

All vehicles have SOMETHING unique but some are much closer rivals than others. If an Accord costs $10k more than the Camry above, Honda will struggle to move product.

Stellantis knows full well how to price vehicles against their competitive set, see 1500 vs F-150, Wagoneer vs Tahoe, Pacifica vs Odyssey, etc.

The Gladiator is NOT designed to benchmark the Ranger and Colorado and offer a similar bucket of features for a similar price. It just isn’t.

Instead Jeep designed a truck which offers all the ‘truck-stuff’ capability of those vehicles plus the stuff I listed above - convertible, removable doors, fold down hood, etc. People who are aware of that but claim the vehicle remains overpriced, without being able to cite a cheaper functionally equivalent competitor, are implicitly either saying “I don’t care about all that stuff so I assume it’s valueless,” which is ignorant, or they’re saying “I DO care about all that stuff but I, apropos of nothing, think it should be free,” which instead of ignorant is simply arrogant.

I’d love Jeep to offer a vehicle that offers more kit and capability than the competitors for less money, but they’re not a charity. And, I get some people would like a ‘Gladiator’ but with the specific equipment and features they don’t care about removed and hence priced less. While we’re wishing, I’d like BMW to sell me a cheaper M4 Competition because I don’t want the required automatic transmission and I can do without the adjustable suspension. But just because BMW doesn’t offer my dream specification doesn’t mean the product they do offer is priced excessively, any more then it does on the Gladiator.

Any idea of when 2023 ordering will become available on Jeep’s site? I have been checking every few days but still no luck.

Hopefully the "Build and Price" will be updated REALLY SOON!!! I've been holding out for someone to post the new 2023 order guide on another thread so I could check color options. I've waited for 3 months, gathering information on what model and option packages to buy. Has to have the Max Tow option for me. Decided to go with the Altitude model with a couple options added. Then I waited for the 2023 order date to begin. Finally ready to pull the trigger! Contacted my dealer with the downloaded pdf and was told the Altitude model is no longer listed for the 2023 lineup!!! GRRRRRRRRRRRRRR?!!!!! HURRY UP AND UPDATE THE WEBSITE ALREADY!!!!

Have you seen high velocity in person? Its literally one of the nastiest colors possible, especially compared to all the other great colors they've made. I love yellow, but its basically an ugly pastel yellow that was probably the single worst jeep color i've ever seen sadly.

I’ve only seen it on a JLU High Tide with the matched fenders and hard top, I think (online…not in person, yet). Too much of a bad thing imo on those with so much matching.

I think on a Willys it’d be OK.
