Why couldn't Jeep make the Freedom panels for front and rear?

I mean seriously... why'd they stop at just the front?
It would be so much convenient vs. taking the entire rear off (especially for ppl doing it alone, or like me with a puny wife that probably couldn't help me).
Or for people that have limited space to store an entire rear roof section.
Or for people that just want to go topless on the fly - like the convenience of a soft top, but with the structure of a hard top.
Seems like a missed opportunity.
Sorry for the rant... In my mod-list making, it's just bugging me that I probably should have sprung for the "dual top" option... but then again, storage.

The bigger missed opportunity was not having the rear glass roll down like the Toyota Tundra. It would of made the top a lot lighter and given a pretty cool safari feel with the doors off, but still keep the top on to keep the sun off. That was one of my favorites on my soft top TJ and YJ.

I assumed Toyota has some sort of patent since I don't see any other trucks with that option. Also, it would probably be an engineering feat to get the glass to roll down and have the top removable. ...but with that said roll down or removable glass would be great!

I think the original K5 blazer had roll down tailgate glass and a removable top. It would be super awesome on the JT

if you have a bed cover on it’s not that hard to remove the top by yourself. There’s videos on YouTube

Yeah, but just having the freedom to remove read-panels on the go would be awesome. Think about it, you're cruising around with the squad, realize that the weather is primo, and decide you want to roll without the top. If you had removal rear panels, no problemo. But if you had what we have now, you'd have to go home, take the roof off, put it away in the garage... and so on...

I agree. That’s why I’m looking for a soft top to purchase to run in the warmer months.

Until someone invents my idea, I think that's the move... I'll pick one up for sure next summer.

When I first looked at the top, I thought that back part did come out like a targa, just because it looked like it was cut that way and why not make it easy to take off instead of a big top.

The Bronco has a removable rear row roof panel.

That was one of the appeals of it vs the Wrangler before I realized that neither had enough cargo space.

It’s really not that hard to remove the top by yourself…I was concerned about the process until I actually tried it.

That said, having a summertime soft top is the perfect answer…I just wish it didn’t look so awful when down ?
