Bought my 2020 JTR used with 15,000 miles via Carvana in July last year. I've put another 15,000 miles on it and have not had a single problem of any kind.

I even drove it from SoCal to Seattle and back last month. Over 2,200 miles in a week and towing a 6500 lb 16 ft enclosed trailer on the return trip. Not so much as a hiccup.

And it HAD occurred to me that maybe the original owner sold it to Carvana because they'd had reliability issues but in hindsight I think it must have been a lease return or one of you guys going for a color change! Lol.

You never know why any used car is for sale. Could be they dumped a lemon on Carvana, or it could be like in my case, I simply wanted to start over and have a couple of other options in a new one - one of them an option that can't be added at a later time. Who-ever gets my 2020 will get a nice truck with no problems, any minor stuff was long ago worked out. The only thing I can think of is that it may need batteries. The dealer said they were going through the process and pay to get it certified as a Jeep Certified used vehicle - so the next owner would get some warranty.
Used stuff is always a gamble. You could make out great - and generally do.

Fingers, eyes and toes crossed here but I’ve had excellent luck with ALL the used cars I’ve ever purchased…so far. But I’m about to turn 68 so there may not be that many more cars in my future.

When i look for a used car I basically am looking for a brand new car that happens to have miles on it. I can tell a vehicle that’s been well detailed to sell vs one that has always been taken care of.

In my little pointed head if someone doesn’t care enough to keep their car well maintained cosmetically, then I highly doubt they suddenly develop the discipline to keep it well maintained mechanically.

I'm sure there are exceptions here & there but overall, a slob is a slob and if you let it stay looking like schit you probably treat it like schit mechanically too.

Absolutely the last jeep for me ! The chips from Taiwan , the engine and wiring harness from Mexico, the computer module probably from China, Borneo or the Philippines ! I also have a Toyata TRD Off Road , totally bullet proof !!!
Where do you think the chips in your "Toyota" come from? I understand your frustrations, but please acknowledge you're being very emotional in that comment, it doesn't make logical sense.

Unless you already left, you don't need to acknowledge anything ha

Frito-Lay
At least when I had kids living at home, that's where the chips in my Comanche came from.

The OP is letting go of some frustration...Best to give him a little kindness. Obviously car issues aren't only w/jeeps but all manufacturers...And it can be very frustrating to get no results after many trips to dealer...

I've been there with my first Cadillac an Eldorado in the 90's. I started thinking along the lines of lemon law...Suspension worked like crap, many times to dealer, nada. Until they sent their suspension "pro" to a class to learn how the cadillac latest and greatest active suspension worked - LOL! He actually apologized to me after that and once he got it to work.

It happens, even with Jeeps too (as hard as that is to believe ;-)) and no the OP isn't imagining it.
Yea, when I'm pissed off the first thing I do is go to an Internet forum where I've barely posted and vent...

Not sure why anyone would take it personal.

I don't know that anyone took this one personally, but what did OP expect? A pity party?

That's too often it - that, and validation of anger or feelings, etc.

I feel bad that this dude hasn't had the most stellar track with his Jeep. I can see how his Toyota TRD Off Road (assuming its a Tacoma?) would be very reliable. Our family swagger wagon Sienna has been the most reliable car I've ever owned. That said, I've also owned a Highlander that I basically "lemon'ed" in less than a year. Given this person's issues, in perspective with the overwhelming positive vibes in these forums, I'll just chalk it up to this guy getting the rare bad one. Its a shame that his one experience has tainted him against the whole bunch. If I did that with my Highlander experience, I would not have benefited from our beloved, tank-quality, living-room-on-wheels, the Sienna. (Granted she's not the coolest ride, but I love that minivan.)

Also lastly, this about this... ahem... diatribe...

Veiled racism much? Taiwan leads the world in semiconductor technology innovation and production. Where do you think the components in your beloved bullet proof TRD Off-Road comes from? The same places. You could have just as easily said this was a result of slip-shoddy, lazy American quality control, but you didn't. You picked specific Asian countries, and Mexico.

See ya later homie. Don't let the steering lock up on your drive off the lot. Baiiiiiii

25k miles on my 2020 Mojave. 10day, 2500 mile trip through Oregon and back recently with a little camper trailer. Then went to Baja Cal, MX shortly after. 8k miles in 3 months and did great. So far so good.
