I am ordering some stuff tomorrow. Two steel front bumpers one stubby from Fab Fours and one stubby from Iron Cross. one set of rock sliders from Fab Fours. And two steel rear bumpers from IronCross.

My big question is there any strong reason not to do steel bumpers in the rear? I don't have any sensors to move. My reasoning is in a minor traffic accident it will hold up better than the stock. Also for off road. I feel like whatever the cause of damage the steel is less likely to get pushed into corners of the bed. Main downside I can see is added weight. Curious what you all think or why you do or don't run steel bumpers.

If payload is a concern, don't. If payload is no concern, then no biggy
The only impacts I see are payload, and already having extra weight back there if you tow.
I've considered it myself - actually my wife said "why don't you get a steel bumper for the back if it's stronger. You have one on the front......."

In my case - Money is the main reason, and payload, as this 2022 has a lot lower payload than my 2020 did and they are the same truck.

I added the Rubicon steel bumper and the rear sliders to my Mojave. Finished off the truck the way it should have came. The weight difference isn't as massive as adding a steel front.

Been considering that for the rear bumper on my Mojave, went aluminum stubby up front and it shouldn't add any weight at all over stock. 30lbs total for front.

Very true payload is a slight concern as i carry tools daily but i mean not enough to max out... but it gives me something to think about before i order. Thanks

I wouldn't overthink the payload too much. In a minor accident an aftermarket steel bumper may help . It will also transfer all the force to the frame which is not fantastic. Most folks run them for trail protection (very low speed) and clearance. The JTR rear is pretty damn decent with the bed rails for a stock piece . Way better than the flimsy JLR steel bumpers . I run the Fab Fours stubby front and stock steel JTR rear with the bed sliders .

Ordered a Rock Hard 4x4 Patriot Series the other day. Replaces the bumper and skid. Should be here on Friday, looking forward to it.

The red rock sliders will work with a stock rubicon steel bumper. Just installed one on my truck.
