Lol. I had zero problems with my 2017 Canyon All Terrain from new till 60k when I traded it. My 2020 Gladiator has half the miles on it and has been in the shop countless times and still has several unresolved issues.
Granted the first year Glad's had some teething issues during the 2020 model year. My advice to you that if you like the JT in general, trade it off on a '22 or '23. Like any newly introduced vehicle, I generally wait until the third model year to buy.

But the issues experienced with the Colorado/Canyon line of GM trucks is simply disastrous and inexcusable. Many 3.6 engine oiling issues leading to engine failure, major transmission issues, dozens of electrical gremlins and overall QC issues during warranty period is common.

Of course, there are some that have had great luck with their GM's just like the many that have had positive experiences with the 2020 JT.

Hell no. I’m not paying for a new one. They’re stupid expensive and I got mine for $8k off in 2/2020. They’re going to fix my shit. I’m so tired of their could not duplicate BS. It’s all being documented in case I have any issues outside of warranty.

I’ve had several GM trucks and several Jeeps. All of my Jeeps have had a lot of problems and my GM trucks have been extremely reliable.

I’ve never had a driveline failure in any vehicle I’ve ever owned except my Jeeps. My gladiator had to have an entire new rearend assembly at 20k miles and my ā€˜96 XJ’s 4.0l had to be replaced under warranty at 50k miles. For comparison, that included two GM trucks I had with 300k+ miles on them on the original drivetrain.

edit: I can’t remember the name of the engine code on the 2017+ 3.6ls, but I’ve never heard of any problems with them. It’s a completely different engine internally that addressed a lot of previous issues. Also, the 2017s and some of the 2018s had some transmission issues, but they were addressed in 2018. Mine shifted weird and jerked sometimes. But after they did some software updates and put the new/non hygroscopic fluid in it, it was completely fine. They aren’t butter smooth like my ZF 8 speed, but it was fine. BTW, ZF went through the same issues in BMWs and Audis, but it came out a long time ago and has been well sorted.

The ZR2 are heavy. The Z71 and All Terrains are considerably quicker than any 3.6l JT. The 2017+ do 0-60 in 6.1 sec.

in normal driving they do feel about the same, but that 3.6l is a different animal over 4K rpm. It’s fun to flat foot and pulls hard to the 7200 RPM redline.

I liked the seats in my All Terrain a lot. My fiancĆ©e and I did countless road trips in it and it was always comfortable for both of us. The JT rear seat is better in the Gladiator and I do like the front seats in my Overland a little bit better. Mainly because they’re a little firmer m, but I had no complaints with my GMC.
I’ve had a lot of different cars over the years, and if there’s one thing that I’ve learned it’s that seats are insanely subjective. Perfect seats for one could be horrible to another.

Yup. Different heights. Weights. Seating positions. Also preferences. I like my Jeep seats because they are firm like my Audis and BMWs and Volvos I’ve had. Some people hate that.

Being in a Mojave now, I test drove a 4xe recently because my Mojave is the worst vehicle on fuel I've ever had, including my 2015 JK and 2017JKU both on 35's. The Mojave seats are the best Wrangler seats I've ever sat in. Still thinking that if the numbers work for a 2022 end of the generation ZR2 with a 6foot bed it might be a good option, def save some cash on the monthly payments considering the truck is almost 20k cheaper in Canada.

Yup, I have multiple back issues and LOVE supportive and well bolstered seats like you’ll find in most German cars. My wife has an AMG and the seats are heaven. The Mojave isn’t that, but it’s about as good as truck seats get.

I loved my Canyon. It’s definitely the best mid sized truck in its class as far as what it’s supposed to do. Truck duties and drivability and comfort. My dad has an 18 Z71. He liked mine so much he bought one. Anyway, I drive and tow with it a decent amount to keep the mileage down on my Gladiator. It’s literally the same options as mine was, but a Chevy and a year newer. It’s such a great truck and does everything I’ve ever asked of it remarkably well. Even when I towed a ridiculously over loaded uhaul 6x12 from NC to GA. However, it doesn’t have the same character or X factor that my gladiator has. At $40k, it’s a way better value, but I really do enjoy my Gladiator better. It makes ZERO sense, but I do.

I'm also really digging the new Canyon AT4.

Look I'm gonna be honest - I love my JT so far. Just crossed 1,000 miles in it. As long as it stays as reliable as my 2016 JK - that went to the shop once in 89,000 miles for a basic recall - then I'm keeping it.

But if someday it decides it's gonna give me hell - I may swap again and try one of these out.

Lol. My canyon (same thing) literally did everything better than my Gladiator. Towed better, better handling, bigger bed, higher payload, better economy, considerably better acceleration, etc etc.

I’m just dumb and like the gladiator better. Weird Jeep sickness.

I loved my Canyon.

I'm glad to hear you liked your truck, but I think your positive impressions and experiences with GM products put you into the category of "Unicorn".

Thank you but All of them. Several of them? Some with 200-300k miles on them?

this is especially ironic on a Jeep forum when Jeep historically has a worse reliability track record. They’re thought of like land rovers by most as far as in terms of reliability. They probably currently do as well.

Just as I suspected. All Chrysler brands below average like normal. Some rounding out the bottom.

edit: except dodge. What does dodge even make anymore? The Charger and challenger? I’d hope they have those figured out by now. That an ancient design. They still sell last gen caravans to rental car companies?

And yet Chrysler is close to the bottom, even though the charger /challenger share the same platform as the 300, and dodge is so much farther up. Ram is way lower than jeep even though the powertrain are the same. Gmc and Chevy are so far apart even though their vehicles are functionally identical. Interesting.
The fact that Toyota and Lexus and Honda and Acura are in dead heats respectively makes sense, though.

It’s probably like why GMC is historically lower than Chevrolet. Chrysler and GM dealerships are notoriously awful at explaining how vehicle features work. A 300 and a Canyon/Sierra typically have more features. More features that their operation is never explained because the customers don’t typically get a proper vehicle delivery experience. A lot of non issues get listed as complaints and dealership service visits and the brand gets dinged.

Can’t make this shit up. When I bought my GMC. My sales person handed me the keys, shook my hand and waved goodbye. Then, he stopped me as I was pulling out. I rolled down my window and he said he had to press the o star button to activate it so he gets credit for doing it. Can’t make that shit up. I’d rather have that than my jeep sales person. He tried, but he didn’t know a damn thing about it and it was painful so I made up a story about I had somewhere to be and I’d come back.

JD Power ratings are useless. I got my JD Power survey about 9 days after I purchased my Jeep. What kind of problems did I have at that time? Yeah, exactly.

Jesus. You're referring to IQS. That’s not what I posted.
