While looking at used Gladiators I noticed that the rear fenders take a beating even with that small piece of PPF applied to the fender from the factory.
I have a 23 Mojave on order with painted fenders and wondering if the factory wide tubular side steps help protect the rear fenders.

I have the factory steps and would definitely say they don’t do much. But adding mudflaps helps a LOT. I have Rockblockz and haven’t noticed any more chips since then.

Ihave the standard factory side steps (not tubular) and glad I have them since I dont do enough off road that would require rock sliders. They leave no space for rocks etc to come up to fenders.

I've used stock O'land steps, the tubulars, and the Rubi sliders. Of those, the O'land was the best at protection. The tubular steps do not conform to the curve of the cab like the O'land steps, and allow a lot of dirt and gravel to go through the wider gaps at the front.

I kept the factory rock sliders on mine and installed the Weathertech "Rubicon" splash guards. Even though I added KO2's with slight tire poke, these really helped with the rear fender and door hinge dings and chips.

Nothing is going to be perfect though as these fenders stick out almost as far as Dumbo's ears!

I’m not crazy about how the Rockblockz look. Anyone have a pic of the Mopar splash guards installed on their Gladiator?

If you search there are lots of threads with pics comparing mudflap options. I looked through pages of them before buying the Rockblokz.

The Mopar Splash Guards will not fit the front fenders of a Mojave. Rears will though. I wanted them to match. That is why I went with Weathertech.

This has been discussed here before (I have even emailed Weathertech about this) and their website states "not available" when you put in the Mojave model. The standard rock sliders are the same as the Rubicon model from the factory. If you didn't order the optional side steps and want to stay with your stock sliders, just order the ones for the Rubicon. They fit perfectly, have a molded look to them and have the proper pockets for the front of the sliders (see pic in the link below).

I am very happy with mine and good coverage without looking too generic or bulky. Rockblockz weren't for me. Sorry RB fans!

Good to know on the fitment for the Mojave. I did order the option tubular side steps though.

I'm going to have all 4 fenders, hood and grill done with PPF from a good buddy of mine.

I'm also going to do the Xtreme Rubicon extended flares as well.

I went with front RokBlokz. I can't say I love the look either.

But I would say they reduced the spray up the side of the truck and onto the rear fenders by , no joke, 95%. Super SUPER effective.

And the fronts are only $85 and take 5 min to install. I didn't bother with rears because
1) I don't like how the rears look even more than I don't like how the fronts look.
2) the rears are 2x the cost, take 3x as long to install, and ohnnly protect a tiny portion of the rear fender behind the tire.

No flaps

Now with Front Flaps. (below) Note the mud kicked up on the small section of the back fender but absolutely nothing on the side of the truck. Last winter I had 3" thick ice fender-bergs stuck to my rear fenders when I drove in a the snow. After install. Nothing.
