Hypothetically, what’s the end result if you just keep driving it…assuming you take to a dealer and they say it sounds normal, then you drive it another 10k miles…at some point isn’t it going to become undeniable or you’ll get a check engine light and then they just have to give you a brand new engine if you are still under the powertrain warranty? Seems like a pay me now or pay me later situation.
I figure as long as you have it on record that you took it to a dealer and complained, and the dealer said "ignore it, it's normal". Then if it blows later, in or even out of warranty, you are covered.
As long as a problem is reported and it's on record - it's their baby.
If you do nothing and keep driving it - some might argue "why didn't you stop? It could have been fixed - we're only covering A, B and C but not D because you ignored it".
And if you go in and complain - and you run past the drivetrain warranty, they still have to fix it because it was a problem prior to the warranty expiring.

Almost every 3.6 i hear sounds the same. That’s whats throwing me off. I had a sound similar to that that I saw online can also be torque converter

If you hear any sound from a TC, you've got real problems. Never heard one tick before and knowing what's inside and how they work, any sound coming from one would have me getting a replacement post haste.

The problem with cell phone videos posted online and then listened to on a phone or computer is that certain pitches are exaggerated, so ticks sound worse or different. When I record mine and then try to post it and listen to it - it sounds bad and yet standing next to it, there's no discernable ticking. On the recording played on my phone or a computer - there's ticking.

When I’m in my truck no air out music going just parked in idle all you hear is a faint clack clack clack. Def but a normal idle sound. My local dealer sucks. If they dispute it I’ll bring it to my trusted mechanic to have him print me out a full write up. I’ve had other wranglers so I oboe something is a stray

If the flex plate is loose or cracked it supposedly makes a knocking sound some people think is camshaft

OK., flex plate, not converter. Different animal.
It's a knocking sound, more like a rod. It's a different sound than a camshaft. It's deeper and comes from a lower part of the engine so is transmitted differently.
As a mechanic I've run into and diagnose those.
But the issue with that is that you can load the thing up by doing a brake stand - hold the brakes and give it gas while in gear and the sound totally changes.
Those who don't know better may mistake it for a valve train sound.
There are different tricks to diagnosing the various sounds - wrist pin, rod knock, main bearing knock, piston slap, collapsed lifter, rounded cam, loose valve train, etc.
A loose flex plate is going to act more like a rod than anything else because of the depth of the sound and how it acts under a load.

So what would be my issues under load with a flex plate that’s no good?

I ask because the Wranglers had a different 3.6 prior to the 2018 model year.
So you can't compare the sound of anything prior to 2018 when it finally got the "upgraded 3.6" engine.
2019 should have the same engine as JT
but the 2017 has the old style valve train, no VVL and limited VVT.
These sound different - more stuff going on up on top.

From my experience, if you can't hear it inside the cab while driving and it doesn't increase with RPM's while driving it is more than likely not an issue. Have any of you guys ever driven/heard a new Tacoma ? 2016+ ? Those things sound like rattle traps (and imo a crap engine and a let down from the previous 1GR 4.0 they were using).
