I figure as long as you have it on record that you took it to a dealer and complained, and the dealer said "ignore it, it's normal". Then if it blows later, in or even out of warranty, you are covered.Hypothetically, what’s the end result if you just keep driving it…assuming you take to a dealer and they say it sounds normal, then you drive it another 10k miles…at some point isn’t it going to become undeniable or you’ll get a check engine light and then they just have to give you a brand new engine if you are still under the powertrain warranty? Seems like a pay me now or pay me later situation.
As long as a problem is reported and it's on record - it's their baby.
If you do nothing and keep driving it - some might argue "why didn't you stop? It could have been fixed - we're only covering A, B and C but not D because you ignored it".
And if you go in and complain - and you run past the drivetrain warranty, they still have to fix it because it was a problem prior to the warranty expiring.
