2 month review- 2 Star

I decided to go the budged friendly route of getting a rough country lift with the N3 shocks. I have used rough country in the past for all my Toyotas so i figured why not. All the other ride quality experience i had worked out well. After install (`$1,400{lift+install+control arm brackets+alighn}) i picked the truck up. Man it sure did look good lifted with bigger tires. 10 out of 10. I drove off and realized it was really rough on the road. I figured maybe for some reason it needed to to break in. Since that day it has not. The ride quality is rough....really rough imo. I knew going in i would not have the factory ride quality as i did not expect that. I only use my jeep on road. While driving down the road when hitting bumps and cracks ect(not pot holes) the truck will shake like the suspension is not taking any dampening. If i happen to hit multiple bumps in a row the truck will shift left/right like i was on ice for a split second and then back to normal after the bumps. I have taken it to another offroad shop just to double check everything. They said it looked good and the alignment was good. I am not sure if i have something defective or this is just the ride quality to expect. I have thought about purchasing different shocks from another manufacture however i do not want to do this and the quality does not change due to the stiffness coming from the springs instead of the shocks. I can only speak from my experience and i will be changing this kit out in the future. It is just too rough.

Shocks are the bigger factor in how firm or soft the ride is.

RC often uses softer coils than most others, but I'm not sure what they use for the Gladiator.

Does anyone have any feedback using this lift with another shock. I want to make sure this will soften the ride before spending almost 1k on shocks.

On the JK forum, Rough country does not have a good rep. They say the company is named correctly.

Hello, i have a question about the 3.5" rc spacer lift for diesel, i have a high altitude and put on the 3.5 spacer lift with n3's, i also did the lca relocate brackets at the same time. question is has anyone ran into the issue of the front sitting higher than the rear? I measured before install and after to find rear only came up 1.5 inches total and front sits 2.5 inches higher from tire to fender flare. looks like shit with the reverse rake, i have ordered rear 3/4" spacers from daystar to help with this. thanks

Honestly most people steer clear of RC stuff. Their products are affordable for a reason. There were only 2 lift options for the WK2, and one was over twice as much as the other. I had them on my WK2, which looked great for the first 6 months. After that the rig would bottom out on the freeway and I lost almost all my lift. I would never go back again.

I’ve had their kit for the Mojave on for 15k+. I have their shock extensions to keep my factory shocks. I’ve upgraded other parts since initial install but all the RC stuff is still on except for the front sway bar links and rear springs, they were too soft. I am happy with the ride and have not had any ill experiences as you.

I have a friend with a JK on RC springs and shocks and yeah that thing bounces you around like a tank.
