My friends,

I’ve been on this forum for a little more than two years, and in that time I cannot begin to count the instances in which I gained deeper insight, or just had to sit back and laugh as I unraveled the wit, of any of the now 19,934 posts (as of 8:32 am EST Dec. 11, 2022) from the legendary @ShadowsPapa.

His experience and generosity, to me, are the backbone of this place. His steady reasoning and unflinching rejection of rumor or rage have kept many passionate conversations planted firmly on the rails. And there's a sly sense of humor in there that is its own art form.

And in a day or two, depending upon how much coffee they have in Iowa this time of year, his message count will roll past 20,000.

I don't know @ShadowsPapa outside of this space, and it took me almost 300 posts before I was lucky enough to engage with him directly, but as I saw the 20K mark rolling up I realized I wanted to thank him for the many times he's helped me work through a tangle, and for his commitment to the Gladiator community.

So this morning I raise my coffee mug to our own brilliant neighbor, our Jeep loving, Sheldon Cooper-esque rock, Mr. @ShadowsPapa! ☕

I'll drink to that. From my short time here, I've already had some good conversations with the man. I've read many more and seen the good, the bad, and the whatever else and know that I will look forward to the next time that I see his name pop up in a thread.

People Work?
He's either right or so steadfast in his belief that he is that he makes me put forth the extra effort to follow through and find out which it is ?.
Happy 20k, @ShadowsPapa !!
I'd love to know what the word count on that is.

Somewhere between a billion-hundred-million-thousand-trillion... Anyway.
Cheers!!

20,000 posts... 20,000 words each is my guess ;)

@ShadowsPapa isn't know for brevity - and we're all the better for it!

I agree, he is stubborn pig headed old guy, that is very smart , well versed in many topics. Always jumps in to help people, I’ve messaged him several times, even sent him some parts gratis to help repay his contribution here.
Bill is a good guy and I always read his posts as I know I’ll learn something.
Way to go, be yourself and keep
on posting, and sorry about the first sentence, ya aren’t that old!…..Jack

I also raise my coffee…dam just spilled, hold on … OK, ShadowsPapa is an icon with years of experience I could only wish to have just a slice of. He and many others here have been a great support while I battled the beast in my young history with Jeep. This support keep me sane and on track.

Remember when he went missing? Lol!

He's always been a good sport about sharing his wealth of knowledge, and beings as my first car was an AMC Eagle, I can appreciate his love for the brand.

Cheers!
