Got off work and drove to my local Safeway to buy dinner. Ordered ahead for curb side pick up. Pulled into the designated area and waited.

Here’s the sus part. Some guy pushing and empty cart walked by my Glad and I notice he was holding what looked like a OBDII diagnostic tool. Hmmm ? was he trying to spoof my key fob?

He's in SF. I think it's against the law to photograph criminals there.
It's against the law to actually enforce the law there. I forgot.

Think it might have been a Tazer? Like the kind you use to stop a mugger or a carjacker?
I guess either way you're changing the programming.

Paranoid much… most likely scenario is a store employee retrieving a shopping cart with RF id wheel lock. If the wheel is locked they have a little remote to unlock so they don’t have to drag it across parking lot. Sorry to break it to you like that, I know you gladiator fells special, but it is not Eleanor from Gone in 60 Seconds ???

It was a tricorder.
Was he wearing a red shirt?

Seriously, though - I've seen and dealt with a few devices lately that are used to remotely control the things that help them guide loooong strings of carts back to the store (that was sort of cool - he had a controller in his hand and was guiding a line of carts several feet long back to the store), a device that an employee used to scan shelf tags and order things for you that they were out of stock (weird looking device), and more.

Wondering - what does an OBDII diagnostic tool look like? I've seen a half dozen different shapes and sizes.

The kids these days ?

“Sus” is short for Suspect.
I must be old - never heard of it, and I've worked around cops and troopers.
