New 4XE Charge Port Air Chuck Conversion kit - From Grimm Offroad

This is a brand new product out from Grimm Offroad - The 4XE Charge Port Air Chuck Conversion Kit.

This kit converts the Jeep 4XE charge port into an air chuck station, giving you easy access to your air chuck and compressor on/off switch for those airing up duties at the end of the trail.

Kit includes everything you need to install it, including the OE 4XE Charge Port and the 4XE Cowl Corner.

***This is designed to work with the Grimm Offroad Under The Hood Twin Air Compressor mount and ARB Twin Compressor, but you can use it with other brands air compressor kits. You will need to figure out the air hose routing and wiring for other, non-Grimm, compressor kits.

This will not work with the 392, Mojave and 4XE JLs/JTs.

Don't know where Grimm got their inspiration for this part, I do know that they've been working on it for a long time, IIRC we sourced the 4XE parts for them over a year ago.

You can still order RH drive Jeeps, but don't know if they would have a RH side 4XE Charge Port.

Super cool to see this - adds to the "pros" list for onboard air under-hood. I've still not decided on under-hood or getting a tank and putting something bigger (Extremeair, Viair, etc.) in the bed. Still leaning towards the latter, but this is a super neat element.

This wouldn't fit the Mojave or the 392 with that funky taller cowl/hood set-up they have.

And of course it won't work with the 4XE due to it sharing the same cowl and charge port area....

Grimm said they got the idea from the Jeep Way Out concept truck. They loved the idea of the air controls on the cowl corner in an easy to get to location and when they saw the 4XE cowl corner, it was an obvious match.

There was talk about squeezing an air gauge in there too, but the chuck and switch fit in there nicely, adding a good quality gauge would really squeeze things together.

Reading through that thread, it looks like the OP was inspired by the same.

Coincidence that they started talking to you a year ago for parts (potentially a couple months after that member started the install thread with the 4xE charge panel) and that Wayout concept came out in April of 2019 (well over 3 years ago)?

I have doubts (and would like to see credit given if it was copied), but as the tootsie pop commercial said, the world may never know.

Either way, making it easier for people less mechanically inclined to just order and install it is a good thing. Bravo in that regard.

Coincidentally, I ordered grimm hoses and misc connectors from Northridge4x4 when I made mine. Haha.

There was some guy that made a fancy looking cluster plate on instagram. He might have been the first one using factory parts. I don't have a link though.

We're with you there. No one else was producing a kit like it for the public, so it's cool to see Grimm doing it.

I’ve had mine done for a bit but included onboard air and water and the switches are setup on the aux.

My compressor is mounted in the cab behind the rear seat and just ran a longer line to the same 4XE charge port Grimm uses in their kit.
