The big high amp fuse array - for the base fan that fuse in the array is 60 amp.I bought a takeoff 850w fan off a member here. It's the fan that comes with the tow package. That package also includes the better battery and 240a alternator. I don't have any additional electrical load. I don't tow, have anything wired in over stock etc. Is that alternator necessary for the fan? I assume they include it for a myriad of reasons in that package, not just for the higher output fan. The base fan is 600w. The reason I bought the 850w isn't for accessories or towing load, it's for desert heat. Mojave should have came with it.
Also - I can't see anything in AlfaOBD regarding a fan - assuming it's just plug and play?
Oh boy - thanks for pointing out that important detail. Oops. This is it correct? The big high amp fuse array - for the base fan that fuse in the array is 60 amp.
It's 100 amp for the larger fan.
The draw of that 850 watt fan at 13 volts is 65 amps.
So yeah, you need a different high amp fuse array.
The 600 watt fan would run 46 amps at 13 volts.
You could at max draw pull 20 more amps.
The alternator would be mostly for the extra fan load, IMO. Towing doesn't draw much load.
That may be it- it would seem odd since the fuse protects the wiring, not the device, so as long as the wires were the same gauge, they could use the same fuse.Oh wow check this out:

2021, 2022, 2023 only list 1 part, the one with the 100a.
2020 has the two options.
Looks like a change was made for simplicity.
It's a good day - I just learned something new. Thanks for alerting me to this.
Somewhere in late 2020 or early 2021, they made a change similar to what you are talking about - cutting down on variations, in the door wiring harnesses. When I added passive entry - there were two possible harnesses for left door and two possible for the right door - with BSM or without BSM.I think they cut down on variations in 2021. Another example is halogen trucks already have the 'halo wire' from light plug to BCM. 2020 bros had to run those wires when adding LEDs.
