So Iv noticed a change in jeep wave activity. Before changing anything on my Gladiator I would get the normal Jeep finger V from just about anybody in a jeep. Now after a few light mods.. Ahem.. I get the enthusiastic jeep wave from any jeep with any degree of modification, including modified jeeps pulling up beside me and revving their engines or holding up traffic to talk through the window. The stock jeeps however are now giving me the side eye. Do I offend? Iv also noticed that if i park out in the open in a parking lot when i come out there is at least one modified jeep parked next to me which i think is funny. Just trying to get a feel of the room. The Jeep Side Eye is real..

Its fun but annoying at time. I see the same people every day I wave they don't, next day they wave I don't because they have never waved before. the best one are the ones who wave as they pass tire to tire and you never get a chance to respond. Then there are the times i am in my wife's car and I find myself wave at jeeps all the time! It's a vicious cycle. I am glad i have never gotten a Duck.

Women definitely don't wave in my experience either. Your reasoning is probably accurate. I suspect many also don't know the Jeep wave is a thing.

Suspect that with more and modern type sales, a lot of people are getting into Jeeps that don't know the Jeep culture. So many buy a lifestyle vehicle, looks and nothing else. Recently talked to a Rubicon Recon owner, she did not know what lockers are or any of the goodies in it. She bought it because it looked cool, loved the yellow and it reminded her of some beach jeep toy she had, and just had to have it. Had to walk away when I heard she drives at most 15km to and from work and to the grocery store around the corner so she doesn't mind the fuel economy (duh it's not a 4l/100km Kia, it's a Brick on 34s).

Carly on the other hand knows more about the truck than I do ,I just have more experience with offroaders, and she will wave at anything that looks like the owner did some work and gives a crap about his off-roader.

Heck I have even been told by some old grizzler, if you drive anything newer than a TJ I don't wave at you... you don't know what it's about! Get off my lawn, ...okay we were at a bar and he moved two seat further lol

The whole wave thing is overplayed. If you combine Gladiator with Wrangler sales, the platform would be the 6th most sold vehicle by annual sales. It is no longer unique or infrequent to pass somebody nowadays in a Wrangler/Gladiator.

I find most people wave, regardless of Jeep mods/stock. It does get tiring though. I only have a 2 mile drive from my house to the highway. Some days I'll see 8-9 Jeeps on that 2 mile stretch.
I was up in Vermont this past weekend skiing. Didn't get one wave back all weekend.

I only wave at Jeeps with at least a little bit of mods, they seem to mostly understand the wave. The ones looking stock, never seem to wave and I just assume they don't know about things, except how to keep more of their money in their pocket instead of in the Jeep... ?

I've noticed females don't wave, and they look at you weird when you do. """EWwWw tHat OlD mAn Is hITtING ON Me!!!"
,yup, I've seen the same pattern with women. I still wave and occasionally am shocked when DO get a wave back. Whatever. I don't take it personal. I wave at nearly everyone, unless it's one of those days where I feel like I'm waving every two minutes. At that point it's like," this is getting to be too much"

Yeah, It is the newer Jeep not mod'd owners who don't wave.

I see a lot of inconsistency in my parts, but almost seems to be modded Jeep fellers/felletts do wave more than un-modded Jeep folk. Anecdotally, them angry eyes folk seem to not wave at all. ;)

I find it to be a game - I'm going to wave just to be friendly no matter how often I get the no-wave - thinking the positive thoughts that they're just being focused on driving and staying in their lane instead of intently looking into the windshield of someone heading towards them to see if they're waving back. :)
