Had the truck about a year and a half. Hooked up a trailer for the first time this week. Nothing.
Factory ordered Rubicon diesel with tow package.
Nothing on the round connector with an adapter, either.
Fuses are present and intact.
Bought a tester- nothing.

Anyone else experience this and what was the solution? Is there a typical location they forget to connect at the factory?

I do need the trailer, lol.

Did you pull the loom off the back of the hitch to see if there's power there? Does the ground have continuity ?

I had this on my 2020. There was a loose wire on the back side of the connector where the harness connected to the 4/7 pin connector hub.

I found it and had the dealer replace the whole harness under warranty.

No. I just reached under there and wiggled it. Nada. I've got a buried volt meter have to dig up and go from there.
I'll pull the connector off tomorrow and see what.

Not sure what you mean by "power" - you don't mean you are looking for 12 volts, are you?

There is no power to a 4 pin unless lights are on.
You have the following:
Ground
Tail lights
Brake/left turn
Brake/right turn
There's no power otherwise.

So if you didn't have lights on, you won't get any power back there.

Nothing to activate. It's connected through the PDC where the fuses are.
Even without a tow package you have those connectors and they work (so you could put a ball in the bumper and tow a small trailer. )

Do tell. Thanks for your wisdom.

a single loose wire caused all lights to not work?
I could see a connector not seated doing that. But there's 4 wires, each with a different function. If one wire was loose - the other lights or functions should have worked (ground could have killed all lights but often, trailers will ground through the ball)

So you had no lights working - weird.

Many modern trailers don’t rely on chassis ground, as it isn’t reliable.

Kevin
That's why there is a ground wire but sometimes you don't realize that ground is bad because things work when parked......but can be not working or intermittent when moving. I don't recall any trailer that doesn't use a dedicated ground. I only mentioned that because one may think it's ok when they check lights. It may have found a ground path. That doesn't mean the ground wire is good.
