NO POWER STEERING ON STARTUP

Hi all. I have a new Nighthawk with only 1,100 miles and I’ve run into a few strange issues. On two occasions, after starting up and backing out of my garage, I noticed that that power steering wasn’t working. I had to shut the truck off and start it back up in order to get the steering to operate. Has Anyone had this issue?

Also, I stopped at a red light and placed the trans into ”N” momentarily. When it was time to switch back to Drive, I could not get the lever to move at all. It was stuck in “N”. I had to shut it off and start back up in order to switch gears. Very Odd.

I would suggest checking the the two connections on the power steering pump motor paying attention to the thick gauge power wire connector making sure they are fully seated and have no signs of high amperage heat melting on the connectors. There has been a pretty good theory that many of the random engine area fires that have occurred have been due to faulty routing and connection of the EHPS wiring to the motor pump.

I would suggest getting that to the dealership pronto and rippin' them a new one while they fix it on the spot!
