Had mine sitting in the office for over a month. I had an upcoming trip I was going to take my Jeep on. I installed the DD E Max last night, minus the aux for the "max" portion. They powered on and looked great. Drove into work during the daylight then on my return trip home at night the left light went out, then the right. I flashed my brights on and it seemed to work ok, but caused my fog lights to turn off. Then I switched back to regular (non-bright) mode and all lights went off, flashed my brights again and the fog lights came back, but I could tell by the reflections of the cars ahead of me that my halos went off as well. Luckily my fog lights, also DD brand, were bright enough for me to see. I had to take a few back roads home just to not get some law involved in my drive. I got home and shut off the engine, then did the alarm feature and unlock. The lights did their little show and seemed fine, so I cranked the engine again, but the main lights didn't come on.

I have the diesel 80th Anniversary edition with Halogen stock lights. Am I supposed to get a Taser or something to fix this issue? Or is it something else? I really like these lights, but would hate to have to go back to halogen.

I also just installed the fog lights recently, as I had them for some time as well. I got the amber ones and they look great, not sure what it looks like as I approach vehicles on the road yet, but hopefully I didn't piss off too many drivers on the road last night.
Yeah either flickr harness or Tazer/Jscan. I used a Jscan as it's cheap and gets the job done.

Has anyone received the anti flicker module yet? I got confirmation of an order for them but nothing about them shipping yet. I was really hoping they would have shipped this week like they previously stated.

Replacement unit arrived while on vacation, so got to install it today. Simple install, definitely worth removing the fenders for wire management and reaching the connectors. Passenger plug is for sure tight, but I bent it horizontally toward passenger and that seems to create the least amount of pressure.

Lights seem solid, good cutoff that matches the elite fogs. Welcome sequence is nice. Didn’t get to wire up off-road lightning yet, and I don’t know exactly what the fuse tap is for as everything else seems to work fine. Trying out amber drl for now as it complements the blue nicely.

You skipped the fuse tap part and everything works fine?

I had assumed the fuse tap was for the DRL’s.

Yea, I already have two fuses tapped, and I think one of them *may* be the 12v cig lighter that they suggest, so I need to decide which one to use.

So for now I left it out, and I can’t figure out what purpose it serves. I was thinking memory or welcome sequence, but the drl setting is sticking and the sequence works fine. Only weird thing I noticed is it takes a long time to switch to the actual amber drl after starting the engine.

Called DD and the rep said it’s “probably for DRL” functionality, but couldn’t confirm. Was confused because DRL works fine. After wiring it up, I’m pretty sure it’s to trigger DRL on ACC (or whatever you tap to). Also wired up the off-road lights. Here’s a long video of the various modes (off-road comes on around 55 seconds in, but you can’t really see the brights from this angle). FYI the amber fogs are from Z-Roadz, just showing how closely they match:

After holding off for a bit in hopes that there'd be an additional fix for the airbox wire positioning, I decided to work through the install. I will say, without tiny kid hands, I don't see how this install would be possible without either removing/completely loosening the inner fenders or removing the fenders. If I was to do this again, I would remove the fenders. The factory connectors for the side markers also felt like they were connected with Gorilla Glue. Even with the retention clips pulled out, they were very hard to remove.

Unfortunately for me, when I got to the headlight alignment step, my passenger light was pointed at the sky. Figured that would be an easy fix with the alignment tool provided. Turned the tool to lower the projector. Nothing. Went as far down as I could, still at the exact same location it was from the beginning. Based on this thread, it appears I'm not the only one who ran into this issue. Hoping the @Diode Dynamics warranty/RMA process goes quickly.

Some pictures that will hopefully assist others:

Passenger side access method:

Instructions call for the passenger side harness to run down between the battery and the fuse box. There was no opening there to do this. The battery box and the fuse box don't have a gap big enough for the harness to go through, at least on mine. Ended up routing it down a bit closer to the airbox.

Now looking at the pictures I took during the process, I should have seen that the passenger light was aligned sky high.......

So my take so far. The install process is much more in-depth than anticipated from watching the install video. Removing the fenders would have probably been the best bet in my case. Disappointed in the defective alignment portion of the passenger light, but that'll give me a chance to see how the warranty/RMA process is. The lights and the harnesses are of high quality for sure. Just hope that my situation remains a rare occurrence.

It’s unfortunate, but they will do right by you. Just call tomorrow and don’t end the call before confirming a replacement will be shipped. Seems like there’s some QC stuff to be hammered out, but the good units are superb.

Getting my Elite Max installed tomorrow... I've had DD headlights in my Colorado for 6 years and they're absolutely amazing. I expect these to be even better.

Huge fan of this company.

Not sure how I hadn't heard about these lights before today but I saw this thread pop up and it ended up costing me lol..

I just ordered a set of the max lights, definitely can't wait. I was looking at some 10" light bars, so I figured the upgrade to the max would be worth it and wouldnt have to drill more holes in my bumper.

Side note, I ordered from Northridge 4x4 and they have $100 off $850 or more, so before tax I got these for $799. Definitely glad I didn't end up buying the Oem led.
