If the intention is data transmission for CarPlay and not just charging the device, I highly recommend getting a wireless CarPlay adaptor and just running a USB cable from under the dash to charge the device. I have a magsafe charger holder on my dash mount and CarPlay adapter in the armrest, it works perfectly. I use navigation all the time and for long trips, no issues. From under the dash you can just wire in a 12V USB charger.

Which wireless carplay adapter are you using? Any complaints? Is it laggy?

There is always a loading/connection time, but it's nearly as quick as wired CarPlay so it doesn't cause any issues at all for me. I would not consider it to be laggy. I'm quite happy with it.

I did this on my 21 JTRD and ran 3 USB cables up from behind the glove box for GoPro, Phone and InReach Mini.

Just bought me a left over 24 JTR and I'm a bit intimidated. Worried about drilling down and not knowing what it below.

Nice thing with the 24s, the Android Auto and Apple Car Play are both wireless in 24s and newer, at least with the Infinity Audio package.

Anyone with a 24 or 25 have experience with this.

I hate it that it has to be wifi. I keep that shut off on our phones for various reasons. To have to turn it on in the Jeep, then off again, pain in the butt.
But Bluetooth just doesn't have the guts, I guess, or, Jeep is still relying on old BT technology.
