Your better off selling them yourself, $50 per tire is what they were gonna give me

I had mine sold for $400 to a guy but when I went and met him I found out he was in the military, just got married with his second kid on the way and I just ended up giving them to him. He paid me and started telling me about how strapped for cash he was and how he appreciated the good deal i was giving him on the tires. Mine had 60 miles on them, they came off the truck the next day after I bought the jeep. Didn't have the heart to takes his money.

Bought my KO2's from Discount Tire Direct a few of weeks before my JTM got to my dealer. On occasion, they have a flash sale and take $110 off a set of tires and that is when I made the move. I had my Quadratec 41's and Mopar TPMS on hand so when UPS delivered them, I would be ready to get them mounted on delivery day.

I called a Discount Tire store near my dealer to set up the mount/balance. I figured that having new take-off wheels and 33" tires with TPMS that they would want them for resale. They asked me what I wanted for them. $1,000 was fair to me and that they could make a few hundred selling off their retail show floor (not to mention the fact that I bought the KO2's from them and would be spending close to $200 for them to mount, balance and install the new TPMS). Well, I figured wrong. They didn't even want them and said that they already have two sets of Jeep take-offs that they can't sell (probably silver Sport take-offs). They did offer me $500 for the set. I said no thank you.

Ended up having my small local tire shop mount the new stuff for $100. Took the stock Mojave set up off in my garage after driving home 30 miles on delivery day and sold them on Craigslist in two days for $1,000. The buyer drove 100 miles and was glad to get them.

I'll say this also, I would not care if Discount Tires gave you credit or not, I'd do business with them. You sell them on Marketplace pretty easily but most tire places are not going to give you crap for them. They can't offer the warranty on them. The best bet if your going to swap tires is try to negotiate with the dealership and see what kind of price they will do on a set for you. Hendricks was going to give me $800 credit on my tires if I bought a set of KO2s from them. Only thing was Sears was $700 cheaper on the set and was $80 cheaper on the mount and balance, plus had them in stock.

Discount has always done me right. They patched my tire for free and didn't even sell me the tires, all they did was mount and balance them for me. Didn't even know I had a warranty on the tires because I bought them off a dude who decided he didn't want to mount 37's.

I do agree, Discount is great. I was just trying to offset some of the expense and didn’t know if there was an easy or optimal way with them. Feels like private sale will net something decent so I won’t worry about it.

Got 120-125 per tire for my last two sets of trade in take offs. Discount tire in Houston. JK recon with I think the KM3s. And then Mojave JT falcons. Call several locations. Their interest and prices varied.

Your local Discount Tire store Manager can make you an offer for take off's but as mentioned the prices will vary. It depends on the marketability in their area as well as the condition of the tires. I would recommend reaching out to the store Manager for pricing.

It depends on the discount tire. The one I used did not buy used tires., even though mine were basically brand new. I got tired of having my stock overland tires in the way in my garage so I sold them on Facebook marketplace for $400. Maybe I should have asked more. I sold them the same day.

Update they wanted to give me $50 a tire, so can’t do that. Guess they’ll go on offer up or FB.

Some do, some don't. If it really is brand new take offs, they'll give you peanuts for it - like $20-$30 per tire. You're better off selling on FB marketplace for $200 at that point.

oh wow! Didn’t realize they’d pull that kind of money. These 285/70/17 have 200mi… if I could get some decent money for them I would definitely do it.

Quoted $1930 for 5 at Discount
I just picked a set of Yokohama x AT 37x12.50 for $1k.

Nice score. Off facebook? I ended up selling my 35's and got 37's as well.
