You had the Recon Grappler tire? How were they in the snow? Vs the MT Baja Boss AT?
I think he was referring to the ridge grappler that I was looking at from the OP. Could be wrong as all these abbreviations can get confusing lol.

Baja AT had less initial start and stop slip, way more siping. Other than that they both worked well in fresh snow, deep and shallow. Baja AT was better at snow that had been packed. Didn’t drive either in ice. The difference was noticeable for me.

Edit*
I did mean Ridge Grappler. Have no experience with the Recons

Why 315s and not 35s?
315 70 17 is usually referred to as a "metric 35" as it measures 34.36 compared to an imperial 35 that measures 34.5.

Why one over the other? Well 315s are usually but not always cheaper, and I didn't think I'd miss the extra .07 inches of ground clearance

I really like the look of the Baja Boss AT from what I’m reading. The only issue I’ve seen is that the 35 runs down to 34” once under weight. Worried they might look a bit small on a JT especially with the high JTR flares. Any thoughts? Anyone else running these on a JTR?

Metric sizes are also easier to find.
Also, sometimes metric sizes are the only ones available as a C weight rating.

BFG shows the 315/70 with a height of 34.4 and the 35x12.5 with a height of 34.5. So it's hardly worth worrying one way or the other.

Depending on your need for winter driving ... Wrangler Duratracs are good... mountain/snowflake rated. I've run them on JKs and a Taco ... The Ridge Grapplers are good. We run them on our JL and have been pleased both on and off the road.

35x12.50 Toyo AT3’s. I have almost 10,000 miles on then. Wearing well, ride good and seem to be decent in the snow. Probably will go to 11.50 next time but no rubbing or noticeable issues with the wider tire.

I need to get pics up but I just picked up the Toyo Trail RT, 315s. Right out of the gate they’re louder than the Baja Boss AT. They’re D rated so softer too, my Bajas were E. The Ridge Grapplers were louder than both, bigger than both too. Everyone has a preference, I’d run the Baja AT again, would not run the Ridge Grapplers again. They’re not bad, it’s just for me, subjectively, they’re weren’t better than the former.

I’m running 35 Ridge Grapplers. Love them. They’re tougher than the stock tires but I’m also probable a few psi too high still. Done probably 5k on them and they’re great. Not noisy at all

Goodyear Ultraterrain have been great for me. I have about 25k miles on then and they’re wearing excellent. They have the 3 peak mountain snow rating and they do really well on snowy roads. They are a Discount Tire exclusive so you won’t find them on the Goodyear website.

Me too. I had them on my Tacoma as well. Great in rain, snow and slush. I like them better than the KOs. A lot lighter than the Falkens and E rated.

This is my tenth Jeep and except for once when I couldn’t get them, I have always run BFGs…. I guess I am a BFG guy, but I’ve always been pleased.

Pic on the driveway is just with wildpeak 35s. The picon level ground is after I installed the mopar lift. The front is about 1“ lower now after changing the bumper and adding a winch.
Hello! I’m looking to upgrade my OEM 33” Falkens on my 21 JTR. Looking to just move to 35” for now and am currently looking at Ridge Grapplers and Baja Boss. Any recommendations for either? Or another option that you like better?

Thanks in advance! Would also love seeing some pics of 35’s running on a JTR even though I know there’s pics all over the forum lol.
