Air conditioner periodically blowing warm air

While on long trips, every so often the Jeep will blow warm air for a few minutes then go back to cold. Almost like it opens an outside air inlet vent for a few minutes.

Has anyone else experienced this? Is this “normal”? Or a Jeep thing?

It's part of the programming for the ventilation system. During continuous operation, about every 45 minutes it will open a vent to the outside for an air exchange.

This was a complaint from the beginning. There was a TSB for a programming update, but the reported results were mixed, so I never had it done. I don't know if current models still do this.

Where is the special vent you speak of that opens to the outside?

I had this issue with my 2020. It was really noticeable living in Florida where all of a sudden you would get this rush of warm humid air in the cabin. I had the TSB done and no longer notice the issue.

Same here. TSB cured it.

It's the one controlled by the RECIRC button.

Doesn't apply to the Grand Cherokee - but......... there MAY be a different TSB for that. I never noticed it in our Grand Cherokees but my wife seldom ever lets me drive her Jeeps. (and that's a REAL bummer now that she owns a JLU Rubicon)

Have not noticed it on my 2022 JT to Florida and back last fall, or my wife's 2023 Wrangler to Florida and back this spring.
