My point exactly. It's a fake Prime deal.
How is it a fake deal? The manufacturer is providing a 20% discount for two days. To get the price, you have to be a Prime member, or buy direct from the manufacturer.

OBDLink MX+ is 20% off.

OBDLink MX+ Scan Tool for iPhone, Android, and Windows https://a.co/d/3Kb8bh6
That's a good price. it's skyrocketed in the last 2 + years.
Their software app isn't bad for diagnostics or resetting codes, either.
You can save $140 by not renewing a Prime membership.

Sadly, that "exclusive price" is the same price as the actual retailer....

Bet that web site price goes back up as well in a few days.
i've watched other prices align with what things are selling for on Amazon. I've been watching a couple of kitchen things for my wife - and interesting how the price on the manufacturer's own site went down at the same time as on Amazon.

Note that it's still OBDSolutions no matter whether you buy on their web site or through Amazon - the seller is the same.
Will be interesting to see if the price on the OBD Solutions goes back up on Thursday or Friday.

If you can get that price outside of Amazon Prime, then it's not Prime Exclusive. Yet they advertise that it is exclusive...

To get that price you don't need to be part of anything special, like Prime, even though Amazon insinuates you do.

This is common with Amazon. They either pump the price just before (like the TheraGuns) and then advertise it as a deal (even though it was cheaper than the "deal" in the past), or they claim it's "exclusive" when you can still get that same price elsewhere (like this one). It's 100% to trick impulse buyers into getting it now, trying to make you think it's a great deal that you can't get anywhere else.

Not saying it's a bad price. Quite the opposite. Just pointing out that Amazon isn't doing you any special favors on price. Those without a membership can still get that "exclusive" deal. Amazon is just faking the exclusivity of the deal to you in hopes you buy through them instead.

And the seller on Amazon IS OBDSolutions.
If it wasn't for prime days, the price on OBSSolutions web site would still be the higher price.
It's similar to other things I've been watching - they'd not be discounting if Amazon wasn't. And there's likely an incentive for what's going on.

Yes, OBDSolutions is controlling the price, not Amazon. They usually discount for Prime Days and Black Friday. I received an email from them (purchased Black Friday in 2021) announcing their Prime Day items and prices.

New to these scanners. Thinking of getting 35's on my Mojave. If I get this along with a JScan license I should be able to set it to 35's? Do you need to leave this plugged in all the time? Any clue what it would cost if I just brought it to a dealer and had them do it?

You mean the OBDLink MX+ bluetooth adapter?
That with JSCAN and the security bypass cable and you can change settings, read codes, reset the code, etc.
The BT adapter isn't a scanner, but it allows you to connect via bluetooth to the OBD port and use software like JSCAN to do things. The adapter even has its own software that's actually pretty good for reading stored codes and so on.

Oh. Like I said new to these. Thanks for the explanation. Yes I did mean the BT adapter. Makes sense now. Do I need the security bypass cable to change the settings to 35's?
