Dead Aux Battery stops brake controller

The aux battery was failing. The typical error light on the dash for the Start/Stop not functioning was lit. The interesting thing I found was tat the brake controller no longer worked either. The brake controller displayed an error indicating low voltage.

After swapping the Aux battery, an involved process, the brake controller is working fine again. Also the trouble light for the Start/Stop was extinguished and all is back to normal.

FYI: The brake controller is a RedArc wired into the Jeep's wiring harness

That could be bad if your start/stop battery sh*ts the bed while your on a trip and towing and suddenly your aux brake controller also commences to stop working...

Maybe this should be a safety issue brought up to those who build our Jeeps... @JeepCares

Hmm, interesting. Where did you see the error specific to the brake controller not working?

The brake controller itself blinks different patterns with colors.

That’s what I was assuming but wanted to double check since I also have a Redarc waiting to install.

The redarc works well and doesn't have the knee wrecking box as others do. It was fairly easy to install and setup. I like it.

Yeah, it’s a nice unit. I love how compact it is. I’m planning on installing mine in the headlight housing switchplate on the left side. Now that Stellantis has eliminated one of the dimmer dials there’s lots of room on that plate.
