Hi all--I ended up trading the Titan for the Gladiator. The Titan was much more practical, but the Jeep had a funky presence that I just couldn't say no to. It can pull the trailer without drama, but I would like to firm up the back end. Trailer weight is 2771 empty, 410 lb of hitch weight. We camp light, so I'm thinking 300lbs of gear/supplies if I travel with the trailer with the tanks empty. With the payload coming in at 906 lbs, losing most of that to people weight and trailer hitch weight. a WDH hitch is probably not in the cards. It pulls well, so my sway bar should do the job. It does drop almost 1.25" with the trailer connected. The Airlift 1000 kit can be bought on Amazon for under $100. The other option are max tow rear springs at around $200. Which option would you guys recommend to get some of the ride height back. I like the idea of the springs, but I don't know if they need to be paired with other components........Thanks in advance!!

Sumo Springs for sure. Easy install. Zero maintenance. Zero fiddling with adjustments.

They will help control the weight when you need it and basically disappear when you're unloaded.

I ordered the bags, but now I'm thinking I would like a more install it and forget it situation. Just checked out the sumo springs--clean and factory looking in black. All I would need are the bump stop replacements in the back? I lose 1.25" of ride height in the back with the trailer connected. Would I get most of it back with the sumo option?

I just installed the airlift 1000 air bags and installed them this week. I tow a large travel trailer and wanted to give the suspension extra support. Ill let you know how they work out.

Sumo springs don’t help with ride height. They just fix any problems with bottoming out hard. I have them and they’re amazing, but not for the purpose you want. I also have stronger springs for ride height. I happen to love the rake when I’m empty, so it works great for me.

I dunno...I'd still go with a WDH as that'll help transfer some of the weight to the front for helping with steering. I have the BlueOx WDH system.

My trailer is 5,100 lbs (with all we want or need), 27' long and a tongue weight of 420 lbs, probably 520 or so pounds with all in the front pass thru.

When I hooked up once, I measured how far the rear sagged (I have the Overland) and it was 1.5". I then hooked up my WDH and the overall sag was only 3/4".

I don't have or need rear air bags or a heavier duty rear suspension as the WDH takes care of it just fine and also helps with sway control.

Thank you! The bags I ordered are scheduled to arrive today. I just talked with the folks that sell the sumo springs. Honestly leaning in that direction. It's twice the price, but zero thought has to be given once they are installed. I might order them and try them and hold off on returning the bags until I'm confident they solve my problem.......

As others mentioned I'd still go to a WDH as well as the bags in the springs. Even my car trailer I use a WDH on and it makes the front much more stable and planted. Bags will help the sag but wont help the front end feel.

Air lift 1000 all the way. Handles better and no squat. I pull a 22’ camper perfectly level with 20 pounds in the bags. Game changer

We'll see how it goes. I really don't have the payload to take the 50lb hit that WDH would bring.. I have a sway bar that I intend on using. I know that won't help with the weight transfer, but the trailer isn't too heavy to begin with. If I make the move to replace the AGM batteries with lithium next season, that will free up about 60 lbs in the front of the trailer........

I have/pull a 20ft TT with my Mojave. I use a WDH. Stability and control are fine, a bit of squat, a bit of bounce. About 570lbs on tongue. Trailer about 4400# fully loaded. I have added air lift 1000 kit now. What is my setup sequence? WDH hookup, then adjust bags, or visa versa? Pic w/o bags.

Did you install airbags without removing the springs?

Idk, it looks like it’s still got a slight bit of rake in that middle pic. You can see a clear slant downward from the hitch back toward the trailer.

If it was squatting then it’d be a positive angle going up towards the trailer.

Yes. Crunch bag up, jam into spring when rear jacked up to extend spring. Do it when warm, not -10 like me. Lol. I did plum them together to gas door... I might plum them seperate, to same location if in towing/load I get some sway (as bags can transfer psi if one side heavier when loaded oppositional to the point of these).
