The last few weeks I have been watching everything and documenting when my gladiator goes in limp mode.
I can predict when it will go in limp mode.
I have read threads with others ranging issues, wiring harness which I checked, I went thru complete trouble shooting.
Voltage is one thing I see. it avgs 12.3-12.5 avg.
Highest oil temp I have seen is 239 went in limp mode.
But normally temps are cooler going in limp mode.
It will usually go in limp mode at 2000rpms-2500rpms.
It's always on a hill never in flat areas, towing or empty.
I am thinking it's a voltage issue or sensor.
Another thing auto stop/start. When it shuts off at the light you can watch voltage drop and when it gets to 12.1 it turns back on.

I would be pulling the batteries and have them load tested. That and check if the alternator is being commanded to charge. Making sure all the fuses in the underhood fuse box would not be a bad idea, as well.

I have checked for loose connections and fuses as well
I know with turbo being electronic controlled with it spooling going uphill that it pulls voltage more which if it's in minimum now with cooling, oil cooling with drawing voltage I wonder if the turbo puts it over then confuses the computer?

As much trucks and heavy equipment I have usually a bad battery or alternator things go dead quickly but in this case nothing has died yet.

I am always opened to suggestions.

I just wish we know all the parameters that causes limp mode. The ECU has to see more than one parameter to cause limp mode. If "A" and "B" read X, no limp mode. But if "C" reads X with A and B. Then limp mode. Just wish what it is.

That would be something buried deep in the ECU that FCA won’t share as it sets the performance boundries.

That would be something buried deep in the ECU that FCA won’t share as it sets the performance boundries.
With technology today nonsense stuff like this should not happen!

Technology issues aside, no manufacturer is going to give you the secret sauce to throw their product into limp mode. This would be a lemon law lawyers dream come true.

You def have some sort of electrical issue. Your temps are no where near thermal triggers. Did you check the harness by the exhaust ?

Yes I did. It's good. The f23 fuse is -03 volts
