Has anyone experienced the two rear seat backs flopping down on their own when braking? At first I thought someone just didn't get it latched properly. I then flipped it back to latch firmly but I can grab the back of the seat and pull it down pretty easily without pulling the release. Dealership is backed up and wants me to leave my Jeep for about 10 days before they can look at it. I don't trust it to let anyone sit back there at this point. Anyone else experience this?

No experience with this and my rear seats aren’t even installed anymore but that sounds like the latch height needs adjusted. Is it just a little bar on the back wall that gets latched to. Can it be adjusted up?

I know it is a silly question, but are you making sure the shoulder belt is pulled out of the way? I missed that once and the seat back wasn't latched all the way. If yes, you may also want to check under the seat pan to make sure something didn't block from below.

Try locking them. If they refuse to lock, that's another sign the bars they clip into are misaligned I would think. Sounds like something you're better off fixing with a hammer than leaving your truck somewhere for 10 days.

They should lock. I need to pull op on the strap on the top end of each seat back section to release. Either they were down and something (debris, etc) is jammed in the locking mechanism to where it is not pivoting to latch, or something may be out of alignment.

Well, I figured it out I guess. Apparently when the loops are being pulled up to release the latch, they aren't always pulling back down inside the seat. It looks like they may be catching on the stitching sometimes when it tries to retract down into the seat. Strange that they had both done it at the same time.... mystery solved. Thank you all for your replies.

What great service in 2023. Something like that could have been checked in 1 minute. "Welp, we gotta do this entire engine replacement first sorry sir." Triage, Jeep - learn it.
